Description
Tōko Fujiwara is Shigeru Fujiwara's wife. As relatives of Natsume Takashi, she and Shigeru welcomed him into their home after his parents died. Unable to have children themselves, she offered Natsume a place with them.

She consistently shows kindness and hospitality. Tōko cares deeply for Natsume, striving to make his life comfortable. She often worries about his well-being, especially noticing his quiet reserve around her. Natsume maintains this distance to hide his ability to see spirits, fearing it might damage their bond. Despite his reluctance to share his troubles, she remains patient and attentive.

Tōko acts as a steadfast maternal figure for Natsume, providing the emotional stability missing from his childhood years of moving between relatives. She offers him safety and belonging, qualities reflected in her name: "塔" (tō) meaning pagoda or temple—a sanctuary—and "子" (ko) meaning child, together signifying her role as Natsume's refuge. The Fujiwara name, combining "藤" (wisteria, symbolizing support) and "原" (meadow, suggesting peace), mirrors the nurturing, tranquil home she creates.

Her daily life involves caring for Natsume through household routines like cooking his meals and managing the home, demonstrating her ongoing support. While her past before Natsume's arrival remains unexplored, her character centers on her unwavering commitment to building a loving family environment. She remains a constant source of warmth, devoted to making Natsume feel accepted and valued as family.
