Description
Jun Sasada is class president in Takashi Natsume's first-year class. She has straight, shoulder-length brown hair, dark brown eyes, and wears glasses. Her bangs are often clipped back with a green hair-clip, and she is typically seen in her school uniform. In middle school, she wore her hair in pigtails.

Her mother died when she was young. After her father remarried, he also passed away, leaving her to live with her step-family. As class president, she exhibits an authoritative and occasionally bossy demeanor but is recognized as a hard and efficient worker. She demonstrates strong determination and persistence, particularly for goals she deems important.

A pivotal event occurred during a previous year's Trial of Courage at the old schoolhouse. After dropping an amulet her late mother gave her, she encountered a mysterious figure wearing a bucket over his head (later revealed as the yokai Shigure). He returned the amulet using a stick, explaining he could not touch it directly as "the unclean cannot touch the blessed pure." Unable to identify anyone with his voice at school, she concluded he was a ghost and visited the schoolhouse daily afterward, hoping to thank him.

The following year, while organizing the final Trial of Courage before the schoolhouse's demolition, she pressured Natsume to participate, suspecting he could see supernatural beings. When students went missing during the event, she confronted him directly about her suspicions. After being rendered unconscious by Nyanko-sensei, she awoke and apologized to Natsume. She revealed her impending move to the city due to her stepfather's job and shared her story about Shigure, asking Natsume to convey her gratitude if he could see yokai. Her message emphasized how Shigure's kindness gave her daily courage and that he was "not unclean at all." Natsume relayed this to Shigure, who touched Sasada farewell as he faded away. Though she could not see him, she sensed the connection, and the moment remained a cherished memory.

In the manga continuity, she moved away the week after this incident. In the anime, she remained as a recurring character within Natsume's school friend group, alongside Satoru Nishimura, Atsushi Kitamoto, Kaname Tanuma, and Tooru Taki. Her persistence in questioning Natsume about yokai continued. In one episode, she returned an old bus ticket he dropped and followed him to a bus stop, asking about his plans with it. When Natsume questioned her interest, she blushed and claimed she wanted to see a yokai, citing her experience at the Trial of Courage. Tanuma intervened, allowing Natsume to board the bus alone.
