Description
Gabriel Miller entered the world in March 1998 within California's Pacific Palisades near Los Angeles. His father's insect specimen collection ignited Gabriel's childhood curiosity about life and souls. Witnessing a decapitated praying mantis move on video prompted secret experiments where he deduced insect souls were body-wide. This fixation shifted to humans, convincing him souls resided in the brain. He targeted childhood friend Alicia Klingerman, planning marriage to scrutinize her soul. During the 2008 financial crisis, facing her family's debt-driven move to Kansas City, ten-year-old Gabriel killed Alicia with an insect needle in his hidden forest lab. As she died, he saw a glittering cloud exit her forehead, cementing his obsession as her departing soul.
As an adult, Gabriel ascended to Chief Technology Officer at Glowgen Defense Systems, his father's firm. He pursued Japanese FullDive technology for soul research, learning Japanese to enter Gun Gale Online as "Subtilizer." He gained legendary status, winning the 1st Bullet of Bullets tournament with only a knife and handgun, and the 4th BoB unarmed. Using "Army Combative" skills, he disarmed foes by predicting movements for close ambushes. During the 4th BoB, he strangled final opponent Sinon, whispering "Your soul will be so sweet" as her HP faded. His playstyle triggered overseas player restrictions on Japanese servers, which he bypassed to compete again. He led a player-killer squad with a 100% PvP win rate until unconventional tactics from Kazuto Kirigaya's group forced his retreat.
Glowgen secured a U.S. National Security Agency contract to raid the Ocean Turtle facility and seize Soul Translator (STL) tech. Learning the STL could interface with and duplicate souls, Gabriel volunteered to lead. The assault partially succeeded, capturing the main control room and two STLs. Gabriel and subordinate Vassago Cassals entered the Underworld via STLs while their team monitored externally. Gabriel assumed the superaccount of Dark Territory Emperor Vecta, provoking the War of Underworld against the Human Empire.
As Vecta, he commanded Dark Territory forces, sacrificing factions like Orcs to fuel Dark Mage Guild attacks. His Incarnation—converting willpower into reality—manifested his soul fixation as supernatural abilities. After Lipia Zancale's assassination attempt, he witnessed and consumed her soul like Alicia's, gaining soul absorption, mind control, and energy projection. He mocked Bercouli Synthesis One in battle, sneering, "Your soul is too thick and heavy. Too simple. It sticks to my tongue." He later abducted Alice Zuberg to extract her fluctlight for analysis in his planned virtual world, targeting strong souls—especially Sword Art Online survivors.
Physically, Gabriel stands six feet one inch with swept-back pale blond hair and blue or greenish-blue eyes. He typically dresses in a white dress shirt, dark grey slacks, and custom cordovan shoes, switching to low-visibility military gear in combat. His personality exhibits zero empathy, viewing others as tools for his obsession. He displays calm confidence, strategic cruelty, and detachment, discarding allies after use. Military training grants elite close-quarters reflexes and situational awareness, amplified in Underworld by Vecta's invulnerability and soul-consuming Incarnation powers.
