Description
Robert is Sebastien's grandfather residing in a Pyrenean village with his daughter, Angelina. He serves as Sebastien's primary guardian, providing stability after the boy's mother vanished. Robert displays a deeply cautious and protective nature, especially concerning Sebastien's safety.

Initially, Robert shares the villagers' deep-seated mistrust of Belle, the large Pyrenean Mountain Dog befriended by Sebastien. He falsely accuses Belle of attacking livestock and people, believing her a danger. This conviction strengthens after Sebastien and Belle flee the village together. Driven by concern for his grandson and a desire to capture the dog he perceives as a threat, Robert actively participates in the search efforts.

Robert's character development focuses on his evolving view of Belle. Following Sebastien's departure, he grapples with his own role in events. Over time, he comes to recognize Belle's true nature—her loyalty to Sebastien and protective instincts. This realization leads him to abandon his pursuit and accept Belle as Sebastien's companion and guardian. Ultimately, Robert shifts from opposition to quiet support for Sebastien's quest to find his Roma mother, acknowledging the bond between the boy and the dog.
