Description
Sandayū Koma, also known as Koma Sandayū, is a first-year student at the elite Y-Academy boarding school specializing in Yo-kai Special Power (YSP). Born into a prominent rakugo family, he abandoned expectations of that profession to enroll in Y-Academy after meeting its YSP admission standards, a path shared by his childhood friend Jinpei Jiba. Their reunion in class, sparked by Jinpei recognizing a "Bizarre Man Beron" keychain on Sandayū's backpack, solidified his decision.
His appearance echoes Komasan, featuring a round head shape and hair resembling subdued hitodama flames. He always wears either a YSP Watch or Majin Watch on his left wrist and carries a backpack similar to Komasan's bag. Sandayū radiates shyness, politeness, and kindness, often speaking softly. He possesses a child-like innocence, particularly struggling to grasp concepts like romance. Though occasionally clumsy when offering advice, his intentions remain consistently well-meaning.
Sandayū's primary ability involves using his YSP Watch to transform into the hero "Little Kommander" alongside his partner Komadillo. After specialized training under Zazel, he unlocks the enhanced form "Little Kommander Ace." Utilizing the Majin Watch near Gnomey allows a further transformation into "Zashiki Kommander." As a core YSP Club member, he confronts supernatural mysteries at Y-Academy, including powerful student organizations and extraterrestrial threats.
His closest bond is with Jinpei Jiba, forming an immediate connection upon meeting at school. Their friendship deepens at Y-Academy, where senior students Natsuki Enra and Haruhiko Usumizawa recognize both for their latent powers. This partnership extends into collaborative YSP Club efforts. Sandayū occasionally references defeating "giant rats and monsters," though specific contexts remain undocumented.
Distinctive traits include exclamations like "It's too pitiful!" ("Kawaisō sugiruu!"), calls for assistance such as "Komadillo, I need your help!" ("Komajiro, kimigainai to komaru nda!"), and the occasional "Monge~!" reminiscent of Komasan. He also performs rakugo routines, including a tale about the spirit Hanako. He favors soft serve ice cream, mirroring Komasan's preference, and is one of few characters typically addressed by surname.
