Description
Jinpei Jiba is the human reincarnation of the Yo-kai Jibanyan, born to Miho Jiba and Jinjin Jiba. Miho died shortly after childbirth saving a child from a falling traffic light, echoing Jibanyan's sacrifice for Amy. Jinjin raised Jinpei as a single parent.
During elementary school, Jinpei awakened his Yo-kai Special Power (YSP) when attacked by an Onryo. Rescued and trained by Zazel to harness these abilities, he befriended Sandayu Koma, the reincarnation of Komasan, bonding over shared interests. They later defended their school from an Onryo attack, leading to their enrollment at Y-Academy for YSP qualifications.
At Y-Academy, Jinpei formed the YSP Club with Sandayu, Mataro Tamada, Fubuki Himekawa (reincarnation of Blizzaria), Mera Raido (reincarnation of Blazion), and Ryusuke Kyubi. He received communication earpieces and transformation watches from Natsuki Enra and Kuka Nanakumo. Jinpei's primary ability involves fusing with partner Yo-kai to transform: with Wampus he becomes Kengo Benimaru for fire-based combat; with Goromi he becomes Wild Boy; with Bluepon he becomes Blue Moon; and with Mikettio he becomes Earth Walker. Advanced training with Zazel unlocked stronger forms like Earth Walker NOA, Earth Walker NOA Armored, Black Cat, and Shikkokumaru.
Key missions saw Jinpei rescue Emma Daiouji from the Sword Tower by freeing the Yo-kai Momo, who aided their escape. He later saved her father Kinya from the Onryo Oyanome. During the "Forbidden Love Curse" incident, Jinpei halted Emma's confession to prevent her transformation into a Hebimaju, later battling Medusa and Meteogon. He piloted the Gakkouger Y mecha to defeat Meteogon, using a grenade from Fubuki to escape the collapsing structure.
Jinpei collected Y Medals to resolve the Seven Academy Mysteries, encountering allies like Goromi and Bluepon. He confronted aliens and the entity Mazera, with Mataro ultimately delivering the final blow using Fubuki's black hole-destroying missile. In a crossover appearance in *Yo-kai Watch 4*, Jinpei traveled to Nate Adams' timeline, aided by Shadowside Jibanyan, and battled Shadow Venoct before returning to his era.
His personality blends a passionate sense of justice with childish quirks: he creates spontaneous raps, misinterprets social cues—remaining oblivious to Emma's affection—and exhibits running gags like summoning random objects during misunderstandings, such as ramen when saying "Lord Menma." He cries comically during rejections or emotional distress. Physically, he has red hair resembling cat ears, an ahoge, and wears Y-Academy's red uniform with transformative watches.
