Unlike standard cursed corpses, Panda possesses sentience, independent thought, and the ability to generate his own cursed energy. Classified as a Semi-Grade 2 jujutsu sorcerer, he serves as a second-year student alongside Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Yuta Okkotsu. Originally appearing as a fully grown giant panda, a battle with Hajime Kashimo resulted in the destruction of two of his three cores, permanently altering his physique to that of a smaller, baby panda. On missions, his design occasionally includes accessories like sport knuckle bracers, armbands, scarves, or jackets. Panda maintains a cheerful, calm, and humorous personality. His speech evolved from an overly formal tone in youth to a more casual and sarcastic style. He views humans as inherently strange yet respects them as a species, forming strong bonds with classmates and demonstrating empathy, such as sympathizing with Kokichi Muta after a fight and promising to visit him. While rarely angered, significant threats to his cores provoke intense reactions. His combat prowess stems from unique physiology housing three cursed energy cores, each representing a distinct "sibling" persona: the balanced Panda core, the power-type Gorilla core, and the unrevealed Triceratops core. These cores act as his hearts, requiring destruction of all three to eliminate him. Panda shifts between cores to access different forms. In Gorilla Mode, he transforms into a muscular, bear-like form with purple eyes, drastically increasing strength, speed, and agility at the cost of rapid cursed energy depletion. Attacks in this mode utilize "Unblockable Drumming Beat," bypassing defenses by resonating damage internally. Triceratops Mode manifests as a bipedal, more slender form with a Triceratops-shaped head, possessing formidable but undefined abilities. Panda reinforces his body with cursed energy for enhanced durability and physical attacks, enabling him to withstand assaults like Mechamaru's Ultimate Cannon. His tactical intellect allows him to deceive opponents by faking core locations and calculating combat strategies. Panda participates in key series events. During the Goodwill Event, he battles Mechamaru, losing one core but winning through tactical ingenuity. In the Shibuya Incident, he partners with Atsuya Kusakabe to protect civilians and survives Sukuna's meteor attack by heeding a warning to remain immobile. He later aids in fighting Kenjaku and joins the Culling Game. His core destruction against Kashimo caused his permanent size reduction. Panda enjoys collecting panda merchandise and favors calpas (dried sausage snacks), while disliking bamboo leaves. Attention given to animals other than pandas causes him stress. He achieved variable rankings in popularity polls, peaking at 14th place.
