Description
Yu Kananase starts as an ordinary high-school student devoid of military experience. His life shifts dramatically when he displays unexplained expertise in piloting mecha, catching the attention of the International Military Organization. Recruited as a test pilot candidate, he must compete against other young recruits, including a classmate, to prove his worth.

Significant family trauma involving his parents caused estrangement from his older sister, Kaori, a high-ranking officer within the same organization, initially fueling his hesitation to join. After recruitment, he reunites with childhood friends like Nanna, unseen since early youth, and encounters Wolf, a prodigy among the pilot recruits.

Yu defies the typical hesitant mecha protagonist archetype. He exhibits confidence, sometimes bordering on cockiness, voicing complaints solely over perceived legitimate grievances. Conflict or stress triggers intense, determined reactions, not fear or withdrawal. Faced with sadness from past trauma or current setbacks, he consciously strives to overcome these feelings, often emerging with fortified resolve.

His narrative unfolds in two distinct phases. The first centers on rigorous training, navigating interpersonal dynamics within the military unit, and adapting to warfare, testing his skills and relationships. The second phase thrusts him into confronting "Remake," a complex, obscure project partially created by his father, Masaki Kananase. This technology promises bodily regeneration while preserving the soul and memories but is weaponized by Masaki's vengeful former partner. This antagonist manipulates Yu's comrade, Wolf, turning him into the enemy Eric. Yu must navigate this deeply personal conflict, interwoven with mythological themes tied to the mecha and technology.

Throughout these events, Yu pilots the Dragon Fang mecha. Upon advancement, he transitions to the more powerful Ordian unit, integrating the Dragon Fang directly into its structure. His journey is defined by uncovering suppressed truths about his family's past, his father's legacy, and his own identity, all while enduring the immense physical and psychological demands of piloting advanced weaponry in escalating conflicts.
