Description
Rina Tennōji, a first-year Nijigasaki High School student enrolled in the general course, navigates social interactions and performances using her "Rina-chan Board"—a sketchbook or digital screen displaying hand-drawn facial expressions. Her muted emotional expressions often lead others to misinterpret her as disinterested, fueling her reserved demeanor. Though reliant on the board, she secretly hopes to one day communicate feelings without it.

Recruited into the school idol club via a Famitsu App collaboration with Ayumu Uehara and Ai Miyashita, Rina uses this opportunity to confront her shyness. Her bond with Ai, whose self-assuredness she respects, and Mia Taylor, a collaborator turned friend, drives her efforts to engage more openly.

Technologically adept, she modifies her board for stage use, designs apps, and operates gadgets like quadcopters. Academically strong in science and math but challenged by Japanese, she fills downtime with video games, arcade visits, and animal-themed conversations, often accompanied by her robotic cat companion, Aran.

As part of subunit QU4RTZ, she performs with the board integrated into routines, while her aspiration to host a handshake event pushes her to upgrade its design for clearer communication. Incremental progress emerges in moments where she considers revealing her unmediated face to supporters, contingent on their encouragement solidifying her confidence.

Her subunit R3BIRTH debuts in the *Next Sky* OVA, though narrative focus remains on her broader arc. Across iterations, her story intertwines technological creativity with emotional growth, anchored by her idol-driven goal to spark joy in others while pursuing self-acceptance.
