Chiemi Tanaka

Description
Chiemi Tanaka is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with the agency Stay Luck. She was born on October 6 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Her common nickname is "Chemii".

Tanaka's inspiration to pursue a career in voice acting came from watching the anime television series Macross Frontier during her junior high school years. To fund her move to Tokyo to achieve her dream, she worked multiple part-time jobs each week while in high school. She enrolled in a voice acting school operated by the talent agency Sigma Seven and, after completing her training, formally began her career with them in 2015. She remained with Sigma Seven until February 1, 2022, when she transferred to her current agency, Stay Luck.

One of her first notable roles was as Sasame Tsuji in the 2016 anime series Three Leaves, Three Colors. In 2017, she landed her first major role as Ririko Oribe in the original anime Sakura Quest. That same year, she was cast in what would become a signature role: Rina Tennōji in the Love Live! franchise. She first voiced the character in the mobile game Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars before reprising the role across multiple anime adaptations, including Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, its sequel Next Sky, and the spin-off series Nijiyon Animation and its second season. Tanaka is also known for her role as Rikka, an alien pilot, in the 2022 comedy anime The Little Lies We All Tell.

In 2021, Tanaka formed the music duo NACHERRY with Natsumi Murakami, her fellow cast member from the Love Live! Nijigasaki project, under the Lantis music label. The duo performed the opening theme song "Eclipse" for The Little Lies We All Tell, an anime in which both Tanaka and Murakami starred. Her discography also includes music released as her character Ririko Oribe for the Sakura Quest series.
