Description
Emma Verde, a third-year at Nijigasaki High School, originates from Switzerland's Italian-speaking cantons of Ticino and Grisons, reflected in her Italian surname "Verde" (green) and her use of "Buono" during introductions. Hailing from a large family with eight younger siblings, she maintains close ties through video letters and weekly webcam calls. Her path to becoming a school idol began during a Swiss snowstorm, watching a televised idol performance that inspired her to study Japanese. She transferred to Nijigasaki from Y.G. International Academy and shares a dormitory with Karin Asaka, forming a close friendship.

Emma radiates a gentle, easygoing, and cheerful personality, often described as having a healing nature. She prioritizes encouraging others and eliciting smiles but tends to internalize worries to avoid burdening people, which can lead to nervousness. Her experience as an older sister allows her to deeply relate to fellow idol Kanata Konoe. Despite her calm demeanor, she shows resilience in pursuing her dreams, using idol activities to combat homesickness. Her development involves confronting her tendency to suppress personal concerns, gradually learning to share vulnerabilities while maintaining her supportive role.

Her hobbies reflect her Swiss upbringing and love for nature: extended woodland walks and river play, often lasting seven hours while carrying homemade lunches. Indoors, she practices quilting. She owns a pet goat named Neve. Emma possesses a notable fondness for food, especially praising Japanese bread crusts for their fluffiness. This extends to competitive eating, demonstrated when she narrowly defeated Hanayo Koizumi in a dumpling contest by supplementing with bread. She also enjoys watching travel shows, particularly hot spring tours, and frequents supermarkets to explore ingredients, though cooking for one presents challenges.

Emma's idol journey centers on making her family proud; her primary dream is appearing on Japanese television so her Swiss relatives can witness her performances, stemming from the difficulty of in-person reunions. A significant milestone was meeting Mai Natsukawa, the idol who performed "Aion no Uta"—the song that originally inspired her. Mai revealed the song was passed down from her senior, deepening Emma's connection to idol heritage. Emma performs solos including "Evergreen," "Koe Tsunagou yo," "Aion no Uta," and "La Bella Patria," and is part of the subunit QU4RTZ.

Physically tall with auburn hair styled in two low braids, light blue eyes, and freckles across her nose, Emma's image color is light green. She belongs to Nijigasaki's international exchange course. Her relationships extend beyond Karin; she views Kanata and Shizuku Osaka as sisters due to their shared history as original N-rarity idols in the School Idol Festival app, admiring Shizuku’s perseverance and often supporting her alongside Kanata.
