Description
Emma Verde is a third-year student at Nijigasaki High School and a key member of the school's Idol Club. Originally from the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, her surname means "green" in Italian, and she often uses the greeting "Buono". She is the oldest of nine siblings and maintains close ties with her eight younger brothers and sisters, frequently communicating with them through video calls and letters. Her decision to become a school idol was inspired by watching a school idol television program during a snowstorm in Switzerland, which led her to learn Japanese and move to Japan.

Emma has a gentle, cheerful, and easygoing personality that gives her a naturally healing presence. She strives to encourage others and bring smiles to those around her, though she tends to conceal her own worries to avoid burdening her friends. Her experience as the eldest of many siblings makes her naturally caring and gives her a special connection with fellow club member Kanata Konoe, who also understands the dynamics of having siblings. Despite her generally warm demeanor, she can experience nervousness easily and sometimes hesitates when facing difficult situations.

Her motivation as a school idol is deeply personal. She dreams of becoming an idol who can heal everyone's heart, believing that working hard to elicit smiles from others is a wonderful thing. A significant part of her drive comes from wanting her family back in Switzerland to see her efforts, and she dreams of appearing on television so they can witness her performances. She finds deep joy in watching supporters smile during live performances.

Within the story, Emma serves as a member of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, performing both as a solo idol and as part of the subunit QU4RTZ alongside Kasumi Nakasu, Rina Tennoji, and Kanata Konoe, with her image color being light green. In Nijiyon Animation, she is shown singing alone in the school courtyard, where Mia Taylor overhears her and encourages her professional potential. She also participates in club discussions, including a conversation about the "Best Little Sister" where she contributes her sibling insights, and she joins other members in Okinawa for the Idol GPX competition.

Her most significant relationship is with Karin Asaka. They share a dorm and have formed an especially strong bond. Emma is instrumental in helping Karin confront her own desires to become a school idol, as Karin had been hiding her true feelings due to conflicting commitments with her modeling career. In a pivotal moment, Emma performs her solo song "La Bella Patria" directly for Karin, wearing an outfit that Karin had chosen for her, and this performance ultimately helps Karin find the courage to join the Idol Club. Their friendship is characterized by mutual support, with Emma often worrying about Karin and vice versa.

Emma has several notable abilities and interests. She loves outdoor adventures and can spend up to seven hours exploring woodlands, playing in rivers, or sunbathing, always packing lunches for these excursions. She also practices quilting and cares for a pet goat named Neve. She has a strong appetite and particularly enjoys bread crusts and Japanese dumplings, with soy sauce egg rice being a dish she longed for even before coming to Japan. Her Swiss background makes her multilingual, blending her European heritage with her adopted Japanese life. Throughout the series, she demonstrates physical flexibility and participates actively in dance practice sessions, helping other members with stretching despite sometimes struggling to communicate effectively with those who do not show obvious expressions, such as Rina Tennoji.
