Description
Maple is an American Curl catgirl standing 157 cm tall, approximately two years old. She has orange wavy hair reaching her back and dark green eyes, with ears that curl backwards characteristic of her breed and a fluffy tail. Her attire typically consists of a brown headband, a ruffled white buttoned shirt under a brown plaid waistcoat, a matching plaid skirt, brown knee socks, and black heeled slip-on shoes. A gold bell with a red bow adorns her neck.

Her personality blends pride, quick thinking, and occasional arrogance. She presents herself as refined, mature, and often haughty or independent, speaking frankly while remaining attentive to others. A notable contradiction is her extreme fear of the dark, compelling her to turn on all lights when walking to the bathroom at night; she dislikes others mentioning this. She is highly sensitive to hot foods and resents the term "catgirl," feeling it diminishes her individuality. She values brand-name products and purrs strategically, usually only when seeking favors from Shigure. Despite her self-assured demeanor, she struggles with self-doubt, particularly regarding her aspirations. Her interactions sometimes include bluntly voicing opinions about customers.

Her story begins in *Nekopara Vol. 0*, where she shows an affinity for human culture and acts as an intellectual among the catgirls. In *Vol. 1*, she reunites with Chocola and Vanilla at Kashou’s patisserie, La Soleil. Shigure recruits her to tutor Chocola and Vanilla for bell certification; during this, Maple teaches Chocola about mobile technology, inadvertently incurring a massive phone bill. She later becomes a maid at La Soleil. In *Vol. 2*, she serves as a polite waitress with clean manners.

Her most significant development occurs in *Vol. 3*, where she pursues her dream of becoming a singer. Initial lack of confidence hinders her progress until Kashou supports her by composing an original song, helping her overcome self-doubt. This arc culminates in a duet performance with Cinnamon, symbolizing her growth. Throughout this journey, her bond with Cinnamon deepens, partly due to shared ambitions.

Trivia notes include her unique independence in selecting her own attire. She is the most technologically adept among the catgirls. Past trauma from being locked in a bathroom by Azuki led to habits like leaving the bathroom door fully open and initially disrobing completely; she later adjusts to being "only half-naked." Another quirk involves her singing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5’s first notes when specific upper body areas are touched. She plays a guitar resembling a modified Fender model.
