OVA
Description
Maple is an American Curl catgirl and the second oldest of the six catgirls living in the Minazuki household. She is often described as independent and self‑assured, carrying herself with a refined and elegant demeanor that can come across as prideful or even arrogant. Despite this outward confidence, Maple is easily frightened: she is a classic scaredy‑cat who turns on every light when she walks to the bathroom at night, and she struggles to stay brave in spooky situations. Her tongue is the most sensitive to hot food among all the catgirls, so she is careful with temperatures.

Maple speaks in a frank, direct manner and does not hesitate to voice her opinions, sometimes even blurting out comments about customers that others might keep to themselves. She is quick‑thinking and attentive to her surroundings, though her bluntness can rub some people the wrong way. She has a fondness for the latest brand‑name products and will only purr when she wants something from Shigure, revealing a playful, manipulative side when it suits her.

In Nekopara: Koneko no Hi no Yakusoku, which takes place six months before the events of the main series, Maple is already an established member of the household. Her role is supporting: as one of the older catgirls, she helps the young kittens Chocola and Vanilla adjust to their new life in the Minazuki home. She interacts with the other catgirls—Azuki, Cinnamon, Coconut, and the younger ones—and contributes to the daily routines that the family shares. Her relationship with Cinnamon is particularly close; they are often seen together, and Maple tends to rely on Cinnamon for support even as she tries to maintain her independent image. She also has a teasing but affectionate dynamic with Shigure, and she respects Kashou as the owner of the household.

Over the course of the series, Maple develops from a purely prideful character into someone who learns to pursue her dreams and become more open with her feelings. In the specific OVA, however, her development is limited; she appears as a steady, slightly aloof presence who nonetheless cares for the younger catgirls. Her notable traits include her fear of the dark, her sensitivity to heat, and her ability to remain composed in most social situations, though her true timid nature occasionally breaks through.
