Description
Tomo, a playable character in Princess Connect! Re:Dive, wields exceptional swordsmanship as a member of the guild Nightmare. She mentors Matsuri, who affectionately calls her "Tomo-nee." Though only 13 years old, her low voice and mature, responsible demeanor often lead others, like the 16-year-old Kaya, to mistake her for being older. She enjoys teasing older individuals, particularly Yuuki.
As the young heiress to her family's kendo dojo, Tomo mastered Mikuma-style swordsmanship under her grandfather's training. This positions her among the most skilled swordsmen in the series, specializing in swift frontal attacks to eliminate vanguard enemies efficiently. Her Union Burst enhances both attack power and action speed, maximizing her skill effectiveness.
Within the main storyline, Tomo plays a significant role. During the Regina Geas arc, she openly criticizes her Nightmare colleague Christina for attempting to incite conflict between humanfolk and beastfolk guilds, condemning Christina's actions as unbecoming of a knight. This confrontation reveals Tomo's strong moral principles and disdain for unnecessary violence, with her commoner background clashing against Christina's noble alignment, straining their relationship. Captain Jun subsequently tasks Tomo with investigating palace intrigues, specifically Karyl's suspicious presence and the legitimacy of Princess Eustiana von Astraea's rule, a mission Tomo accepts, leveraging her network.
Later, in the Forgotten Princess arc, Tomo encounters Yuuki's group. A misunderstanding leads her and Matsuri to attack, but she recognizes Yuuki as the palace's summoned individual. After confirming his identity, she calls a truce and provides carriage transport to Elizabeth Park's farm. During the journey, she listens to Pecorine's claims about a throne impostor and agrees to exchange information. Despite this tentative alliance, Tomo warns Yuuki's group her duty as a Nightmare knight compels her to defend the palace against threats. She later reveals Christina's imprisonment for allegedly attempting to assassinate the princess.
Tomo's relationships define her character: a close bond with Matsuri, whom she trains and protects; contentious interactions with Christina over conflicting values; and loyalty to Captain Jun driving her investigations. Her dynamic with Yuuki balances knightly obligations with growing collaboration. Key quotes reflect her personality, emphasizing precision ("Watch the enemy's movements, and strike them at their exact weak point"), dedication to protection ("In order to protect you, I want to become stronger"), and a playful, food-loving side ("After a battle, I get quite tired, and my stomach starts to growl").
Physically, Tomo possesses gray hair reaching her hips and blue eyes, often wearing attire exposing her midriff. Her name (智) means "wisdom" or "intellect," and her surname, Mikuma (御久間), combines "honorable" (御) and "long time" (久間), reflecting her heritage and traits.
