Description
Histoire is a sentient tome created to document the history of Gamindustri, serving as the world's living archive. Her primary duty is preserving historical records and advising the CPUs (Console Patron Units) governing Gamindustri's nations. She typically manifests as a fairy-like being with blonde hair, wings, and attire that varies across dimensions, though her core role remains unchanged.

Originally crafted by an ancient goddess, Histoire possesses vast knowledge but operates under strict security limitations. She requires permission from CPUs to alter reality or access certain information, and her data retrieval process always occurs in fixed increments of three (such as three days for tasks), a built-in restriction to prevent power misuse that persists across all media.

In the main continuity, Histoire serves as Planeptune's overseer, managing administrative duties and guiding Neptune and Nepgear. She exhibits a calm demeanor but displays frustration when CPUs neglect responsibilities, even expelling them from their realm for laziness. During crises like the ASIC threat in *mk2*, she coordinates resistance efforts, is kidnapped by antagonists, and later rescued. Her deep guilt over CPU captivities highlights her emotional investment in Gamindustri's stability.

Dimensional variants exist: the Hyperdimension version appears mature and serious with lighter hair and refined attire; the Ultradimension version (*Victory*) resembles a younger child, uses emoticons in speech, and wears a bonnet-like headpiece, reflecting a more playful demeanor; in *Megadimension Neptunia VII*, she aids in multidimensional crises without being playable.

In spin-offs and ancillary media: within *Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart*, she explains mission objectives in her Ultradimension form; *Gakuen Game Neptune* depicts her as a school board chairman assigning CPUs to create games as "Gaministrators"; non-*Neptunia* collaborations (*Million Arthur*, *Houkai Gakuen 2*) feature her as a crossover character.

In the OVA *Hidamari no Little Purple*, Histoire identifies the CPUs' de-aging after Arfoire's attack, provides real-time data to locate the missing Neptune, supplies the Share Crystal to restore Neptune's powers, later assists in babysitting the child CPUs, and coordinates the search effort.

Key trivia includes her ability for interdimensional communication with other versions of herself. She ranked 11th and 10th in series popularity polls (2011 and 2014), and her design changes with each main installment. Though not directly combat-oriented in most games, DLC in *Re;Birth1* makes her a playable mage with high intelligence stats.
