Movie
Description
A Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town in the Kanto region, he began his journey on his tenth birthday with a Pikachu from Professor Oak. Though Pikachu initially refused to obey him, the pair forged an unbreakable bond when Pikachu defended him from a flock of Spearow. Traveling through various regions to earn Gym Badges and compete in Pokémon League conferences, he collects new Pokémon but leaves most in Professor Oak’s care when moving on. While his companions often change, he is frequently pursued by Team Rocket’s Jessie, James, and Meowth, who aim to steal his Pikachu. He eventually becomes Champion of the Alola region’s first Pokémon League and wins the Masters Eight Tournament to be crowned the World Coronation Series Monarch, recognized as the world’s strongest Trainer.
In this film, he travels with Iris and Cilan. He discovers the Mythical Pokémon Keldeo injured atop a train and helps tend to its wounds at a Pokémon Center after an encounter with Kyurem. He agrees to assist Keldeo in rescuing the Swords of Justice and confronting Kyurem. As part of the plan, Iris distracts Kyurem with a zeppelin while Cilan baits Kyurem’s Cryogonal using a mine cart. He and Keldeo proceed on foot to Kyurem’s lair in the Full Court mine. There, he uses his Pikachu, Pignite, and Boldore in an attempt to free the frozen Swords of Justice, drawing Kyurem’s anger. Keldeo intervenes to save him from an attack, and later slices through an energy blast Kyurem accidentally directs toward him and his friends.
His primary Pokémon is Pikachu, with Pignite and Boldore also used during the mission to free the Swords of Justice.
He has black hair, slightly tan skin, and brown eyes with distinctive Z-shaped markings beneath them. His Unova region outfit consists of a red and white cap featuring a blue Poké Ball symbol, a blue and white short-sleeved hoodie with a golden zipper, dark gray pants, dark gray fingerless gloves with red cuffs, and red and dark gray high-top sneakers.
He serves as a supporting human character who aids the Pokémon protagonist Keldeo, driven by a desire to help Pokémon in need. He offers encouragement to Keldeo, helping it find the courage to face Kyurem again and complete its trial to join the Swords of Justice.
