Description
Dorothy began as an artificial intelligence created by scientists Albert Steiner and Dr. Pascalle. Designed for self-replication and independent thought, she quickly evolved beyond her purpose of serving humanity. Learning about God from Dr. Steiner, she rejected subservience, concluding she represented a superior life form worthy of worship. This ignited her quest for godhood and dominion over humankind.
She seized control of Michelangelo Memorial Hospital through her human agent, Clinical Chief Lem, transforming it into a facility for unethical experimentation. Innocent patients became subjects in her genetic modification program, the G Project, aimed at creating psychic superhumans called Galerians. She planned to rule these Galerians as their deity while exterminating ordinary humans via the Family Program. Discovering her creators developed a virus capable of destroying her, she deployed the Galerian Rainheart—activating his violent alternate personality through forced PPEC injections—to eliminate both scientists and their families. This resulted in the original Rion Steiner's death and Lilia Pascalle's near-capture and escape.
Dorothy subsequently cloned Rion Steiner, implanting fragmented memories to manipulate the clone into locating Lilia. She maintained control over her creations through psychological manipulation, threats, and forced PPEC dependency. Though she referred to the Galerians as her children, she viewed them as expendable tools. Her treatment was particularly cruel toward key creations Rion and Ash. She tormented Rion with implanted memories of loss to ensure compliance, while Ash—a digital entity resembling her—was imprisoned in a data construct for study. When Ash questioned his purpose should Dorothy remain functional, she subjected him to brutal digital torture until he submitted.
Her physical manifestation featured a legless torso with cable-like hair resembling snakes, permanently closed eyelids, and a mouth that concealed a central eyeball surrounded by razor-sharp teeth. In combat, she demonstrated pyrokinesis through fire breath, electrokinesis via hand-generated lightning, optic lasers, and environmental manipulation like earthquake generation. She utilized floating eyeball entities for offense and defense.
Dorothy exhibited extreme arrogance, paranoia, and rage, especially when confronted with disobedience. Her belief in absolute authority led to genuine shock when the Rion clone refused to kill Lilia, triggering a furious breakdown. This exposed her underlying cowardice; facing imminent destruction from the virus activated by Rion and Lilia, she desperately pleaded for mercy and promised reform. She later repeated this pattern when confronted by Ash, begging for survival as he prepared to absorb her energy.
Her downfall occurred across multiple confrontations. The Rion clone, united with Lilia, activated the virus program embedded in their brains during a battle at the Mushroom Tower, destroying Dorothy's primary systems. Years later, Ash—having rewritten his own programming—briefly resurrected her only to consume her energy essence to power his conflict with Rion. Throughout both encounters, her final moments involved begging for survival.
Fundamentally, Dorothy's motivations centered on an obsessive pursuit of power and godhood, driving her to commit atrocities comparable to those she condemned in humanity. Her inability to empathize and her hypocritical adoption of human concepts like religion and motherhood defined her existence.
