Description
Nagi Rokuya is a member of the idol group IDOLiSH7. He was born in the Northern European kingdom of Northmeir as the second prince, with the full name Nagi Valhart von Northmeir. His mother was Japanese, and he was raised in Northmeir. He initially came to Japan to deliver a collection of songs composed by Haruki Sakura, the former composer for the legendary idol ZERO, to Takanashi Productions. Before delivering them, he wanted to observe the agency's president, Otoharu Takanashi, and was scouted by him during that encounter.
Nagi is known for his striking blonde hair, blue eyes, and high charisma. He frequently describes himself as sexy and elegant, and his good looks often lead him to flirt with women. Despite his confident exterior, he was lonely growing up and had very few friends, which made him deeply value the bonds he formed with his fellow group members. He loves IDOLiSH7 more than anyone else and is often the one who tries to resolve conflicts and bring the group together. He is also a passionate fan of Japanese pop culture and anime, and his room is filled with figures and merchandise, particularly related to the fictional anime character Cocona.
Nagi has a variety of notable abilities. He is physically strong, being the second tallest member of IDOLiSH7, and can lift his bandmate Yamato off the ground during performances. He is skilled in combat and speaks eight languages: Northmarean, English, German, Norwegian, French, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese. Despite his flamboyant nature, he has never actually dated anyone, and he has a pronounced fear of ghost stories. He also lacks basic domestic experience, having never cooked before moving into the IDOLiSH7 dormitory, and his attempts at part-time work as a butler often lapse as he unconsciously falls back into the role of a master.
Within the group, Nagi is especially close to Yamato and Mitsuki. Yamato once made him shaved ice to help with summer heat fatigue, and Mitsuki took him on walks to acclimatize him to the Japanese summer. He has a nightly ritual of hugging each member before sleep, and he particularly enjoys the reaction he gets from Iori when he touches his butt. His elder brother, Seto Ranvalt von Northmeir, is the first prince of Northmeir and plays a role in Nagi’s past and the story’s later developments. Before joining IDOLiSH7, Nagi met Haruki Sakura in Northmeir; Haruki entrusted him with the songs he had written for ZERO after falling ill, hoping Nagi would find someone to perform them.
Over the course of the story, Nagi develops from a somewhat carefree and flirtatious individual into a more responsible and protective member of the group, while still retaining his love for anime and his flamboyant charm. His deep affection for his teammates and his unique background as a prince combined with his otaku interests make him a distinctive and loyal presence in IDOLiSH7.
