Description
Iori Izumi, born January 25th and younger brother to Mitsuki Izumi, carries a superior air yet maintains proper manners, wielding a sharp tongue. He thrives on well-planned, orderly execution and stumbles when situations deviate unexpectedly. His parents run the cake shop "Fonte Chocolat," its cute decor inadvertently fostering his hidden fondness for adorable things, particularly the Usamimi Friends Collection. To preserve his cool image, he publicly lists "small and cute things" as a dislike.
Scouted during his first year of high school while returning from shopping, Otoharu Takanashi approached him at a train station. Despite Iori's attempts to ignore and evade him, even changing train carriages, Otoharu followed him home and presented a business card. Iori accepted the offer solely because his brother Mitsuki, discouraged by multiple failed auditions, needed support. His condition was Mitsuki's simultaneous scouting. He later transferred to a high school tolerant of absences for idol work, attending the same school as fellow member Tamaki Yotsuba.
Within IDOLiSH7, Iori serves as an unofficial second manager, advising actual manager Tsumugi Takanashi on logistics and strategy for the group's success. Though he initially joined primarily to support Mitsuki's dream, he gradually developed genuine enjoyment for idol work and deepened bonds with the members. He addresses Mitsuki as "Nii-san" (Mitsuki calls him "Iori"), receives the nickname "Iorin" from Tamaki, and is frequently hugged—including butt touches—by Nagi Rokuya, who enjoys his startled reactions. He reluctantly sings during informal moments, like when pressured by Riku Nanase's silence in the kitchen.
Notable traits include a significant sweet tooth (rivaling Tamaki's) from growing up in a pastry shop, being extremely ticklish ("entire body covered in weak points" according to Mitsuki), and being notoriously poor at lying. Witnessing Riku Nanase drunk led him to vow never to consume alcohol, even as an adult—a pledge Tamaki also made. He occasionally joins Nagi on walks, drawn by Nagi's tendency to attract small animals like stray cats.
Navigating the competitive entertainment industry while balancing high school, he is popular among female classmates (one sought gift advice from Tamaki). His role evolved from a calculated move to support his brother to embracing IDOLiSH7's collective ambition and confronting industry challenges as a group member. His interactions reveal a gradual softening of his initially rigid demeanor, though his rational, planning-oriented core remains.
