Description
Shinnosuke Nohara, known as Shin-chan, is a mischievous five-year-old kindergarten student. His personality blends childlike innocence with startlingly mature language, which he often uses without understanding. He exhibits brutal honesty, intense curiosity, and a complete absence of shame, frequently leading to socially inappropriate behavior such as performing his signature "buri buri" dance while singing "Buttock Alien," typically involving pulling down his pants. Despite this, he demonstrates unexpected skill in activities like running, surfing, kendo, fishing, skiing, and swimming.

He shares a close, teasing bond with his mother, Misae, inheriting her eyes and stubbornness. From his father, Hiroshi, he inherits his eyebrows, hair color, and tendency to flirt with older women. Shinnosuke shows protectiveness towards his younger sister, Himawari, and their dog, Shiro, whom he rescued from the street. His friendships are significant, particularly with the intelligent Toru Kazama (whom he addresses by last name). He provides emotional support during Kazama's distress and considers him his best friend despite frequent bickering. He regularly interacts with friends Nene, Masao, and Bo as part of the "Kasukabe Defense Force" (KB).

In "Crayon Shin-chan: The Legend Called: Dance! Amigo!", Shinnosuke encounters doppelgängers (konjac clones) manufactured from konjac jelly by scientist Amigo Suzuki to force global participation in psychedelic samba dancing. He first meets a clone of his mother at a mall and is rescued by Jacqueline "Jackie" Feeney, an SRI agent investigating the clones. After his family and friends are captured, Shinnosuke escapes with Jackie.

When Jackie struggles during a samba duel against Amigo Suzuki due to insecurity, Shinnosuke intervenes. He encourages her to "dance as she likes," demonstrating his uninhibited "buri buri" dance by exposing his buttocks. This inspires Jackie to incorporate his moves, revitalizing her performance and winning public support. His action directly contributes to Jackie's victory over Amigo Suzuki, revealed as her estranged father. Shinnosuke receives Jackie’s samba whistle as a token of gratitude after peace is restored.

His established traits—mischievousness, lack of shame, unexpected insight, and protective loyalty—drive his actions throughout this conflict. His immunity to societal pressures enables him to support Jackie authentically during the dance duel.
