Description
Rain, also known as Rein, is one of the twin princesses of the Sunny Kingdom. Initially around 8 years old and turning 9 later, she inherits blue hair and sea-green eyes from her father, King Truth. Her signature attire includes a blue top hat, light blue coat, short skirt, white stockings, and blue boots.
Adventurous and brave yet caring, Rain readily aids others regardless of circumstance. She enthusiastically embraces fashion, viewing self-presentation as essential for princesses, and enjoys experimenting with accessories, hairstyles, and fortune-telling. Prone to romantic daydreaming—particularly about Prince Bright—she occasionally acts recklessly, displaying more tomboyish traits in the manga. Despite this, she demonstrates sharp problem-solving skills and maintains a positive outlook. Rain deeply admires her twin sister Fine, calling her a "genius" and "better half," and fiercely protects her, physically intervening when sensing threats.
Her journey begins when she and Fine encounter Princess Grace, who warns of the fading Blessing of the Sun and grants them the Power of Prominence to save their world. Rain proactively spearheads their mission, often dragging Fine toward anomalies like mysterious lights or chasing visitors such as Princess Lione. At early Princess Parties, she nervously dances with Prince Bright but later uses the Prominence to support allies, like spotlighting Lione during a performance.
Rain’s romantic arc diverges between media. In the anime, she harbors a persistent crush on Bright, facing jealousy when he favors Fine or interacts with Princess Sophie. Bright reciprocates after she rescues him from the Black Crystal, leading to dances in both seasons’ finales. Concurrently, Prince Shade shows early interest by frequently saving her, though his affections later shift to Fine. The manga depicts Shade consistently pursuing Rain, rescuing her from perilous falls and refusing to release her during crises. Despite her attempts to pair him with Fine, Shade chooses Rain for a dance and nearly kisses her in the conclusion, implying mutual feelings.
In the sequel, Rain attends Royal Wonder Academy to become a Universal Princess. Touching the Soleil Bell grants her new magical abilities and fairy companions, Pyupyu and Kyukyu, to combat the Black Crystal. Serving as a news reporter, she continues fostering friendships within the academy’s restrictive environment.
Secondary relationships include Prince Fango developing a crush after she calls him a "good person," though his feelings later shift, and Prince Hiruzu proposing in one episode—an offer Rain declines in favor of friendship.
