Movie
Description
Levi, also known as Material-L, emerges from multiple continuities in the franchise. In the portable game narrative, she is a sentient clone of Fate Testarossa forged by the corrupted defense program of the Book of Darkness during the Dark Fragment Incident. Designated the Material of “power” under System U-D, she exudes a boisterous, childlike demeanor, delighting in assigning nicknames to allies and foes. Her appearance mirrors Fate’s features but distinguishes itself with light blue hair, contracted pupils, and a Barrier Jacket styled as the Slash Suit, optimized for speed and close combat. She wields the axe-shaped Device Vulnificus—a replica of Fate’s Bardiche Assault in indigo and blue—capable of shifting into forms like Crusher and Slicer for diverse offensive tactics.

In the movie continuity, Levi’s origins diverge. She materializes as one of three entities born from the Tome of the Night Sky’s pages, modeled after Fate’s magical aptitude and likeness. Her past reveals she, alongside Dearche and Stern, were once cats living with Yuri Eberwein and Iris on Eltoria. During a conflict forty years prior, they bit an adversary to protect Yuri and were commanded to hide within the Book of Darkness, where they perished after Yuri failed to free them. Reborn as humanoids, Levi adopts the title “Levi of Lightning” and engages in events surrounding Eltoria’s ecological collapse, initially opposing protagonists before aligning with them against greater dangers.

Her personality merges fiery enthusiasm with a penchant for combat, often revealing a feral edge in battle. Yet she demonstrates unwavering loyalty to allies, particularly Fate, whom she admires intensely. This dynamic peaks in *Detonation*, where she visibly restrains her exhilaration upon encountering Fate mid-conflict. Her arc spans from antagonist in *The Battle of Aces* to a cooperative force in later narratives, aiding protagonists against shared adversaries like Iris and her terraforming machines.

Levi’s prowess centers on lightning-based magic and high-speed melee strikes. Signature techniques include *Lightning Blade Shock* and *Thunderblade Annihilation Aurora Slash*, with her magic hue shifting from golden-purple to aqua blue after power enhancements in *The Gears of Destiny*. The movie iteration redesigns her Device, adding forms like Giga Crusher for heightened destructive capability. Her role in *Reflection* and *Detonation* features critical battles that cement her integration into the central conflict and eventual collaboration with the Time-Space Administration Bureau.
