Description
Porco Galliard was an Eldian and a Warrior serving Marley, and the younger brother of Marcel Galliard. He grew up in the Liberio internment zone, where he trained from childhood as a Warrior candidate alongside other future Titan inheritors. His older brother Marcel was originally chosen to inherit the Jaw Titan, one of the Nine Titan powers. During the Warriors' first mission to Paradis Island, Marcel was devoured by Ymir while she was still a Pure Titan, after he pushed Reiner Braun out of her path and lost his own life protecting him. Porco later inherited the Jaw Titan from Ymir, the same power Marcel had carried, and became one of Marley's deployed Warriors.
In appearance, Porco was a young man of medium height with a slender build, hazel eyes, and blond hair kept short and pushed back in an undercut style. Like other Eldian Warriors, he wore the armband that marked his status within Marley's society. His personality was dominated by pride, competitiveness, and a volatile temper. He was quick to take offense, eager to demonstrate his worth, and openly contemptuous of those he viewed as inferior, particularly Reiner Braun, whom he held responsible for Marcel's death. His arrogance functioned as a defense against deep guilt and insecurity; he carried his brother's legacy as a burden and constantly measured himself against the memory of a brother who had died protecting someone else. Beneath this abrasive exterior, Porco was capable of genuine loyalty and care. He treated Pieck Finger with warmth and regarded her almost as an older sister, and he was protective of the younger Warrior candidates Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, though he tended to express that concern through gruff criticism rather than open affection.
His motivations were shaped entirely by Marcel's death. Porco wanted to prove that he was a better soldier than Reiner, that Marcel's sacrifice had been misplaced, and that he was worthy of the power he had inherited. This rivalry colored nearly all of his actions, both on the battlefield and among his fellow Warriors, and his urge to outperform Reiner sometimes clouded his tactical judgment.
In the story, Porco served as one of Marley's frontline Titan shifters during the final season's conflict on Paradis Island. After the Marleyan forces regained their footing, he fought in the Shiganshina District alongside Pieck and Gabi and joined the effort to prevent Eren Yeager and Zeke Yeager from making contact. Earlier, in the battle against the War Hammer Titan, Eren had seized control of Porco's Jaw Titan and forced him to bite through the hardened crystal protecting the War Hammer's user, killing Lara Tybur and allowing Eren to claim her power. In the final battle, Porco also attempted to take the Founding Titan from Eren but failed.
Porco's development reached its conclusion in his final act. His hatred of Reiner had defined his life for years, yet when Falco Grice was transformed into a Pure Titan and lunged at Reiner, Porco chose to give himself up instead. Having already exhausted his regenerative abilities, he emerged from his Titan and allowed Falco's Pure Titan to devour him, transferring the Jaw Titan to Falco and saving both Falco and Reiner in the process. In that moment, he finally let go of the grudge that had consumed him and matched the selflessness Marcel had shown when he died protecting Reiner.
As the Jaw Titan, Porco commanded one of the fastest and most agile forms among the Nine Titans. His Titan was relatively small and quadrupedal, covered in hard, scale-like plating, with oversized jagged teeth and long, clawed fingers. Its jaws and claws could crush steel and tear through Titan armor, and its hardened claws were sharp enough to pierce the Armored Titan's defenses and even break through hardened Titan crystal. The form allowed explosive bursts of speed and rapid changes in direction, enabling Porco to close distances quickly, strike at weak points, and kill enemy Titans with a single bite to the nape. In human form, he was a trained soldier of Marley's Warrior program and a capable fighter in his own right, though his personal grudges sometimes undermined his effectiveness as a teammate.
