Description
Eren Jaeger is the central protagonist of the feature-length compilation film Attack on Titan: Chronicle, which condenses the first three seasons of the anime series into a single narrative. He is originally a boy from the Shiganshina District, a town located on the southern edge of Wall Maria. His life is defined by a singular, overwhelming tragedy: witnessing his mother being devoured by a Titan after the massive wall protecting his home is breached by colossal new threats. This event ignites in him a burning and relentless vow to exterminate every last Titan from the face of the earth.

In terms of personality, Eren is characterized by an exceptionally strong spirit and remarkable physical decisiveness. He possesses an intense, almost overwhelming, desire for freedom and an equally powerful hatred for anything that confines humanity, be it the physical walls that separate them from the world or the Titans that enforce that imprisonment. As a child, he argued passionately with his mother about joining the dangerous Survey Corps, showing a deep disdain for the complacent life within the walls, which he compares to livestock waiting for slaughter. He is hardheaded, impulsive, and his emotions often run hot, leading him to act recklessly and speak his mind regardless of the consequences. His defining drive is vengeance, fueled by the memory of his mother's death and his inability to save her, which pushes him forward even in the face of impossible odds.

His role in the story is that of a soldier who possesses a unique and pivotal power. Eren has the ability to transform into a powerful, fifteen-meter-tall Titan. This power makes him both a weapon and a target, as humanity's military seeks to use his abilities to fight back against the Titans. He enlists in the military and chooses to join the elite Survey Corps, the branch of the military dedicated to venturing outside the walls and engaging Titans directly. His existence is central to the conflict, as his Titan-shifting ability offers the first real hope of reclaiming the world from the monsters that have pushed humanity to the brink of extinction.

Eren's most significant relationships are with his childhood friends, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. The three grew up together in Shiganshina, and their bond is the emotional core of his journey. Mikasa is fiercely protective of Eren, seeing him as family, while Armin often provides the strategic and intellectual balance to Eren's more instinctive and rage-fueled actions. Another crucial, fraught relationship is with his father, Grisha Jaeger, who disappeared shortly after the wall's breach. Before vanishing, Grisha entrusted Eren with the key to their basement, which holds the secrets of the Titans, and also injected him with the serum that gave him his Titan powers.

Throughout his development, Eren grows from a vengeful boy into a formidable soldier. While he initially relies on pure hatred and fury to fight, he begins to learn control and strategy, especially in the use of his Titan form. He learns to harden his Titan skin, a technique necessary to seal the holes in the walls. The film follows his timeline from the devastated boy who lost everything to a young man who has learned to master his terrifying power in the ongoing war against the Titans.

Notable abilities include his power as a Titan shifter. By injuring himself, typically by biting his hand, he can transform into a fifteen-meter-tall Titan with black hair, pointed ears, and a muscular physique. Unlike mindless Titans, Eren retains his human consciousness and intent, allowing him to use complex strategies and learned martial arts in combat. This gives him a significant advantage in battles against other Titans. In addition to his Titan form, Eren is a highly capable soldier. He graduated fifth in his class from the 104th Cadet Corps and is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, with skills second only to Mikasa within his trainee squad.
