Description
Eren Jaeger hailed from Shiganshina District behind Wall Maria. Childhood curiosity about the world beyond, sparked by Armin Arlert's book, clashed with his disdain for those accepting life within the Walls. The year 845 brought catastrophe: the Colossal Titan breached Wall Maria. Trapped under debris, his mother Carla was devoured by a Titan as Eren watched helplessly. This ignited an all-consuming hatred for Titans and a vow to annihilate them. Shortly after, his father Grisha injected him with Titan serum, bestowing the Attack and Founding Titans, and entrusted him with a basement key before vanishing.
Eren joined the 104th Cadet Corps alongside Mikasa Ackermann and Armin Arlert, graduating fifth. During the Battle of Trost District, he lost a leg saving Armin and was swallowed whole. Inside the Titan's stomach, he first manifested the Attack Titan power, emerging unconscious from its nape. This transformation drew military suspicion, though Commander Dot Pyxis later sanctioned his mission to seal Wall Rose's breach with a boulder. Eren's early transformations revealed limited control, including an instance where his Titan form attacked Mikasa before she subdued him.
Reaching his father's basement unveiled the truth about Titans, Eldia's history, and Marley's oppression of Paradis Island, shifting Eren's focus from Titan extermination to confronting humanity beyond the sea. In the 854 Raid on Liberio, he consumed Lara Tybur, acquiring the War Hammer Titan.
Physically, Eren evolved from an average-height youth with short dark hair to a taller adult sporting shoulder-length hair tied in a bun, a goatee, and bandages covering his left eye during his Marley infiltration. His Titan forms included the 15-meter Attack Titan with exposed teeth and sunken eyes; a 4-meter Pure Titan with a stocky build from his first transformation; and the colossal Founding Titan during the Rumbling, characterized by a massive ribcage, elongated spine, and undersized limbs.
Personality-wise, he exhibited relentless determination, impulsiveness, and fierce loyalty, especially toward Mikasa and Armin. Early black-and-white morality and rage-fueled actions gradually yielded to strategic ruthlessness after uncovering the world's truths. Haunted by simultaneous past and future memories granted by the Founding Titan's power, he executed a global-scale attack, convinced it was necessary to protect Eldia. This path culminated in him instigating the Rumbling, deploying Wall Titans to devastate civilizations beyond Paradis.
He grappled with guilt over his father's manipulations and his own violence, yet remained driven by the conviction that Eldia's freedom justified extreme measures. His final acts centered on ensuring his friends' survival while accepting the consequences of his choices.
