Satella and the Witch of Envy exist as distinct personalities within the same entity. The Witch of Envy emerged when Satella absorbed the incompatible Witch Factor of Envy 400 years ago. Both personalities love Subaru, but the Witch of Envy exhibits extreme possessive aggression. Satella's original personality is earnest, reckless, pure, and caring toward Subaru's well-being.
