Description
Youichirou Amamiya, a renowned Japanese pianist celebrated as the "Healing Pianist" for his distinctive style, comes from a lineage marked by musical achievement. He is Shuhei Amamiya's father, bearing grey hair with dark undertones and brown eyes. His career includes a defining rivalry with fellow pianist Sousuke Ajino, rooted in Youichirou's inability to replicate Ajino's unique piano sound—an effort that ultimately eluded him. Though he won Japan's national piano competition in his youth, he failed to advance beyond the International Chopin Competition's preliminary rounds.

As a parent, Youichirou supports Shuhei's piano career but harbors wariness toward Shuhei's friendship and rivalry with Kai Ichinose, a prodigious pianist and student of Ajino. He fears Kai's innate talent may overshadow Shuhei or undermine his confidence. This protectiveness manifests as ambition on Shuhei's behalf, yet Youichirou simultaneously demonstrates faith in his son's individual potential. He attends key events in Shuhei's career, like piano competitions, reflecting his active investment. His wife, Namie Amamiya, shares this focus on their son's musical education and success.
