Description
Eri, a lesbian woman, once shared a home with Shun Hashimoto and his grandmother in Okinawa before relocating to live with her girlfriend, Suzu. Together, they co-manage a beachside café that blends traditional family warmth with queer inclusivity, serving as a communal hub where characters converge. The café embodies a symbolic redefinition of family identity through Eri and Suzu’s partnership, challenging heteronormative assumptions and prompting Shun to reassess societal norms.

Eri’s perceptiveness allows her to observe shifts in Shun and Mio’s dynamic, which she nurtures through subtle encouragement. Having provided stability for Shun during his youth alongside his grandmother, she remains a steadfast confidante after moving out, gently guiding him through emotional struggles and fractured family ties. Her experiences as a queer individual navigating a conservative environment underscore the narrative’s examination of intersectional identities and the quiet resilience required to carve out spaces of belonging.
