Description
Nejire Hado, also known by her hero name Nejire-Chan, is a third-year student in the Hero Course at U.A. High School and the only female member of the prestigious trio called the Big Three, alongside Mirio Togata and Tamaki Amajiki. She is a tall young woman with fair skin, wide blue eyes, and exceptionally long periwinkle hair that reaches nearly to her knees, often styled in twisting curls. Her hero costume is a form-fitting royal blue bodysuit with mint-green accents, large wrist gauntlets, and thigh straps. After sustaining injuries during the Paranormal Liberation War, her hair was burned short to chin length and she acquired a scar on her cheek, though both later healed.

Nejire’s personality is defined by boundless energy, cheerfulness, and an insatiable curiosity. She eagerly bombards people with rapid-fire questions about their quirks, physical traits, and personal interests, which can come across as nosy or airheaded, but stems from a genuine desire to connect and learn. Despite this bubbly exterior, she becomes utterly serious and focused in combat, displaying sharp tactical judgment and a calm demeanor under pressure. Her backstory reveals that during middle school, her inquisitive nature was misinterpreted by classmates as arrogance due to her powerful quirk, leading to social isolation. She became withdrawn and somber until Tamaki Amajiki, awkwardly asking about her favorite hero, extended a hand of friendship. That moment allowed her to open up, and Mirio soon joined their bond, solidifying the trio that would become the Big Three.

Nejire is deeply loyal to her friends and protective of younger students. She develops a warm, nurturing rapport with Eri, a traumatized little girl, playing with her and doing her hair. She also mentors first-years such as Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui during her work study under the Dragon Hero Ryukyu, praising their teamwork and growth. Her motivations are driven by a desire to understand others and to prove that her strength does not alienate her; she channels her power into heroism that saves and inspires.

Her quirk, Wave Motion, is an emitter-type ability that converts her own vitality into spiral-shaped shockwaves of pure energy. She can project these waves from her hands and feet for long-range attacks, use them to propel herself through the air for flight, and enhance her physical strikes in close quarters. The quirk’s primary drawback is that it consumes stamina, so she has trained to develop immense endurance and durability, allowing her to fight for extended periods and withstand severe blows—such as fire attacks from Dabi and a slash from Tomura Shigaraki—while continuing to battle. She demonstrates mastery by shaping her energy into different forms, including a large spiral blast that spreads on impact and even a support wave that can carry allies to safety. Her combat style is both aggressive and tactical, often using aerial mobility to control the battlefield and striking decisively when an opening appears.

Throughout the story, Nejire participates in major operations such as the raid on the Shie Hassaikai and the Paranormal Liberation War, where she fights alongside her fellow Big Three members and pro heroes. She evolves from a shy, isolated girl into a confident, effective hero who stands as one of U.A.’s strongest students, embodying the combination of raw power, strategic thinking, and a caring heart that defines a true professional.
