Nejire Hado, hero name Nejire-Chan, stands as a prominent figure in hero society. Her journey began in isolation during middle school, where her intense curiosity about others' Quirks led to invasive questioning. Combined with her powerful innate abilities, this caused peers to perceive her as condescending, resulting in social rejection that made her distant, antisocial, and emotionally bottled. Her trajectory shifted upon entering U.A. High School when Tamaki Amajiki initiated a conversation about favorite heroes, followed by Mirio Togata extending kindness. Their acceptance restored her confidence, rekindling her inherent cheerful and inquisitive nature.
Nejire possesses fair skin, light royal blue eyes, and distinctive periwinkle blue hair. Initially cascading to her knees, sections twisted around her waist and curved inward at the legs. Dabi's flames during the Paranormal Liberation War burned it down to shoulder length and left burns on her left cheek. Post-war, she wore it chin-length. By graduation and her subsequent career as Pro Hero No. 7, she regrew it, styling the ends slightly curlier. Her hero costume also evolved: an early dark royal blue bodysuit with mint green accents and turquoise limb guards transitioned post-war to pure white torso patterns, darker blues, extended yellow boots, and turquoise gauntlets.
Personality-wise, Nejire exhibits a talkative, endlessly curious, and cheerful demeanor, often described as a "free spirit" with childlike enthusiasm. She readily asks blunt or personal questions about physical traits or Quirks, sometimes unsettling others, though this stems from genuine fascination. Despite her typically upbeat and distractible nature, she demonstrates remarkable level-headedness and combat focus, displaying fierce determination against villains without extending curiosity to them. Her compassion is evident in bonding with Eri through play and hairstyling. Underlying this is resilience forged from past loneliness, driving her commitment to protecting others.
As a member of U.A.'s "Big 3" alongside Mirio and Tamaki, Nejire ranks among the school's most powerful students, abilities rivaling professionals. Her Quirk, Wave Motion, converts vitality into pure energy released as spiral shockwaves. These travel slowly due to their spiral trajectory but offer versatile applications: offensive blasts from hands or feet, propulsion for flight/mobility, civilian rescue, restraining villains, and augmenting allies' abilities—like enhancing Mirio's punches. However, the Quirk consumes significant stamina, necessitating extensive endurance training. Key techniques include the "Nejire Wave" (twin spiral blasts), "Pike" (concentrated piercing strike), and "Nejire Flood" (maximum-output energy cascade).
Nejire's combat effectiveness is amplified by exceptional stamina and durability. She endured a 20-minute fight after Rikiya Katsukame siphoned her stamina, recovered from severe Dabi burns to battle Near High-End Nomu, and persisted after torso slashes from Tomura Shigaraki. Major engagements include participating in the Shie Hassaikai Raid with the Ryukyu Squad against Rikiya Katsukame; fighting alongside Shoto Todoroki against an enhanced Tomura Shigaraki during the Paranormal Liberation War; and joining the Final War assault on "Tomura Shigaraki," helping restrain him despite severe injuries before evacuation.
Following U.A. graduation, Nejire achieved the rank of No. 7 Pro Hero within eight years, maintaining an updated yet recognizable costume design.
