During this mission, he captures Magisa but falls to Dan in a card duel, resulting in the village's liberation. Mocked by his peers for this loss, Kazan remains unswervingly loyal to Yuuki.

His dedication persists even as Yuuki's methods grow ruthless. Kazan participates in significant events, overseeing the construction of the red horizon ladder and witnessing the core soldiers' efforts to free enslaved Otherworlders. He physically intervenes during a confrontation with Mai, resulting in his incapacitation by her attack. Later, he observes Dan's tournament duel against Brustom, which ends with Dan's defeat and deck confiscation. Kazan volunteers his own deck for Dan's subsequent duel against Magical Crown, though Yuuki interrupts the match.
