TV-Series
Description
Zungurii hails from the Gurii tribe in the world of Grand Rolo. Captured forces serving the Otherworld King took most of his family, leaving only him and his brother Nonbirii free. His first meeting with Dan Bashin happens when Dan defeats Kazan and recovers Nonbirii's deck, an act earning Dan Zungurii's profound gratitude and lasting loyalty. To show his appreciation, Zungurii gifts Dan the card Ankillersaurus. Dan gives him Lizardedge in return, but later allows Zungurii to keep both cards to help him build his own deck.

Physically, Zungurii possesses monkey-like features, brown hair, and black eyes. He wears a bandanna around his neck, a yellow shirt over a white t-shirt, tan shorts with large pockets, and brown shoes. A distinctive banana-shaped dagger rests in his belt sheath. His battle form manifests as a cluster of bananas.

Characterized as cheerful and determined, Zungurii maintains a more grounded nature than Dan, whom he deeply admires and strives to emulate. He exhibits fierce loyalty to his companions, especially Dan, often expressing care through actions like preparing meals. His attempts to cook curry for Dan, despite initial failures and conflicts over quality, culminate in Dan declaring Zungurii's curry superior to his mother's, symbolizing their bond. He also develops a protective affection for Mai Viole, frequently prioritizing her requests above others' needs.

Zungurii discovers the powerful card The DragonEmperor Siegfried, sustaining injuries while retrieving it. He later unwittingly gifts this card to Revolver West, an ally of the Otherworld King, and feels intense guilt upon realizing this. During the assault on the Horizon Ladder, he destroys the structure to liberate his enslaved family. Following their freedom, encouraged by his father, he chooses to continue traveling with Dan.

In combat, Zungurii uses a deck composed of assorted cards gathered over time, lacking a cohesive strategy. His only documented victory occurs in a duel against Kotarou during the Grand Rolo Championship, where he borrows The ThunderEmperorDragon Siegwurm. Despite limited understanding of the game's rules and frequent errors, he wins due to Kotarou's inexperience and returns Siegwurm afterward. When Dan suffers a psychological collapse after defeat by the Otherworld King, Zungurii assists Clackey Ray in defending the group and repairing the airship Violet.

Before Dan's final confrontation with the Otherworld King, Zungurii contributes the red magic card Big Bang Energy to Dan's deck. This card proves instrumental in Dan's victory. After the battle, as the worlds are separated, Zungurii expresses profound distress at parting from Dan. In a final act of devotion, he prepares curry for Dan and receives Siegwurm as a memento. He later reappears in the sequel series *Saga Brave*.
