Description
Dan Bashin, a 12-year-old male initially celebrated as the high-ranking "Clash King" in the Battle Spirits world, possesses red hair and brown eyes. His first appearance features a red, yellow, and orange shirt paired with green shorts and brown fingerless gloves; later events show him in longer green pants and a colorful jacket over a black and orange shirt. His battle form manifests as a golden-yellow dragon's face, later evolving to incorporate red wings.
He exhibits an excitable personality, fueled by passion for Battle Spirits and a strong sense of justice. Though occasionally childish or insensitive, he displays unwavering determination, growing increasingly serious as conflicts escalate and showing intense focus during high-stakes battles. His character evolves into that of an all-loving hero who prioritizes helping others, including former adversaries.
Transported to Grand Rolo during a tournament, Dan learns he is the destined "red soldier," a bearer of core's light meant to save the world. Initially reluctant, he commits to rescuing the family of Zungurii, a native child. He allies with figures like Magisa and Clackey Ray while clashing with Yuuki Momose, the white soldier serving the Otherworld King. Key events include obtaining The StarEmperorDragon Meteorwurm from Julian, winning the Grand Rolo Championship, suffering a devastating loss to the Otherworld King that temporarily shatters his will, and ultimately unifying the core soldiers to defeat the Otherworld King using borrowed cards. This victory forces his return to Earth, leaving Grand Rolo's inhabitants behind.
Later, at age 14, he travels to the future. There, he constructs a new deck incorporating all colors and braves, battles the mazoku Duc and Barone, collects the 12 Zodiac X-rares to prevent Earth's reset, and grapples with guilt over consequences faced by allies. After sustaining an arm injury from Duc, he recovers through acupuncture from Hideto Suzuri and receives additional X-rares. He confronts Duc multiple times, defeats Barone in a farewell battle, and makes a heroic sacrifice by becoming the trigger for the Zodiac X-rares to halt the reset. His survival is confirmed in later events.
Relationships define his journey: he develops romantic feelings for Mai Viole/Shinomiya, acts as a parental figure to En and Fant, maintains a rivalry-turned-friendship with Yuuki, and shares a close bond with Zungurii. His signature spirits evolve from The ThunderEmperorDragon Siegwurm to The SupernovaDragon Siegwurm-Nova and The ShineCentaurusDeity Sagitto-Apollodragon, alongside other dragon-themed X-rares.
His background reveals minimal familial ties, with only a mention of his mother's cooking skills. No relatives appear directly in documented events.
