TV-Series
Description
Colonel David leads special forces for the Peacebuilding Forces resistance against Artemis and its Unmanned Forces on a post-apocalyptic Earth. His appearance features light gray hair slicked back, a bandholz beard, and a field-worn elastomeric respirator. He dresses in standard military gear: an olive green shirt, tactical vest, military trousers, black gloves, and combat shoes with orange accents.

Joining the Peacebuilding Forces early on, David entered a relationship with Jessica, a researcher on the classified Project Elysion. Despite Ahmed Kanu's warnings to Jessica about secrecy, they married and had a daughter, Charlotte. Stationed as the garrison for the Orbital Elevator in Bogotá, the family survived in camps until 2051, avoiding Artemis' initial assaults.

Outwardly cold and pragmatic, David prioritizes mission success over personal feelings, accepting necessary sacrifices. This masks deep empathy; he feels profound anguish at atrocities but suppresses vengeance to maintain strategic focus. His duty-first approach often clashes with Empress's compassionate insistence on saving individuals during missions.

The Education Institution later raided his family's camp. Believing Jessica and Charlotte killed, David developed bitter hatred for the cultists. By 2062, he spearheaded Empress's recovery after detecting her reactivation, tasking her with destroying the Orbital Elevator to block Artemis's lunar mechanized forces.

On the mission, he discovered Charlotte survived but was brainwashed into a pseudo-Hemiteos Unit by the Education Institution. Horrified, he pleaded with Empress to spare her during a confrontation; Empress's attack only forced Charlotte's retreat. David later learned Jessica died during failed Hemiteos conversion experiments. Despite possessing a reconditioning pod Jessica left behind – capable of reversing Charlotte's conditioning – he prioritized using it to restore Empress's power and memories. He defended the laboratory as a final safeguard during Charlotte's assault, where Empress intervened just in time. The pod partially reversed Charlotte's conditioning, but residual brainwashing caused her to stab David as he shielded her from debris. His selfless act broke her programming, leading to a brief reunion.

David participated in the final assault on the Orbital Elevator, leaving Charlotte behind to protect her. After his vehicle was disabled by Lunatic, he witnessed Empress's confrontation and learned of Artemis's plan to bombard Earth with lunar debris. Surrounded by Unmanned Forces and sustaining a fatal torso wound while trying to reach the rescuing Charlotte, he feigned a request for her to retrieve a weapon to divert her from his impending death. He viewed a family photograph one last time before committing suicide.

His character was incorporated into the series at the request of original designer huke, a military enthusiast seeking an older soldier archetype to complement Empress.
