Saverio Indrio was an Italian actor and voice actor, born in Taranto, Italy, on 19 June 1963. He passed away suddenly in Rome on 30 June 2025, at the age of 62. His career in the entertainment world began not with performance, but with music, as he trained and performed as a classical guitarist. He later transitioned to theater, honing his acting skills at La bottega del teatro in Bari, where he performed works by playwrights such as Pirandello, Chekhov, and Dario Fo. This theatrical foundation led him to a prolific and acclaimed career in dubbing, where his deep and recognizable voice became familiar to Italian audiences across film, television, and animation.

Indrio was an immensely active voice in the world of anime and animated series for the Italian market. He provided the Italian voice for a wide range of characters, demonstrating his versatility. Among his notable roles were Eyphar Synaps in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon and the villainous Joseph Malkovich in the Lupin III TV special Stolen Lupin. He also voiced Morgana in another Lupin III special, The Last Job. His other anime credits include Hajime Kudo in Zaion: I Wish You Were Here, Charles in Eureka Seven, and a role in the series Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall. He was also involved in dubbing popular series such as One-Punch Man.

Beyond the specific titles listed by fans, Indrio's voice was heard in some of the most iconic Western animated series dubbed in Italy. He was the voice of Mister Satan in the Italian dubs of the Dragon Ball films produced by Dynamic Italia, and for many years, he voiced both Mayor Joe Quimby in The Simpsons and Avery Bullock in American Dad. He also took on the role of James Sullivan (Sully) for the film Monsters University.

His dubbing career extended far beyond animation. He was perhaps best known to a wide audience as the primary Italian voice of actor Dwayne The Rock Johnson for many years, dubbing him in numerous films including the Fast & Furious saga, the Jumanji sequels, and Black Adam. He also lent his voice to Kevin McNally as Joshamee Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series and to William H. Macy in the television series Shameless. Furthermore, Indrio was active in dubbing for video games, contributing his voice to major titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Forbidden West, and Final Fantasy XVI.
