Description
Kenichi Hamada, a Japanese salaryman in his late thirties, perished from overwork in his original world only to be revived in a fantasy realm. He now inhabits the body of a tall, physically fit middle-aged man with scruffy black hair. His unique abilities grant him access to Shangri-La, an online shopping platform where he purchases modern Earth goods that materialize instantly. He also possesses an "Item Box" storage skill with near-unlimited capacity, restricted to items under 10 meters in length. This combination allows him to sell local goods for Earth currency and procure contemporary products for resale or personal use.

Disoriented and stranded in a forest upon arrival, Kenichi survived by scavenging, even burying a deceased adventurer and selling the acquired armor and sword through Shangri-La. His early struggles involved foraging, battling infernal wolves with a purchased slingshot, and eventually reaching the city of Dahlia. There, he befriended Azalea, an inn worker who taught him the local language in exchange for Earth sweets. Registering as a merchant, Kenichi leveraged his abilities to sell everyday Earth items—spring-loaded clothes pegs, glass jewelry, quality knives—attracting customers from maids to nobles like Margaret and the knight North Pole, swiftly establishing his reputation.

Kenichi exhibits a consistently kind and resourceful personality, unable to refuse those in need. This trait draws diverse allies: he shelters Anemone, a 12-year-old orphan rescued from bandits, and forms bonds with beastfolk like the cat-eared archer Myarey, who initially sought spices for her kin. He later accommodates additional beastfolk, including the tiger-eared Nyamena. His merchant activities inadvertently provoked hostility from groups like the spice syndicate Bacopa and rival merchants, prompting his relocation to Astrantia for tranquility. Despite seeking solitude, his relationships deepened; Primura, daughter of merchant Mallow, pursued him relentlessly after he rescued her from bandits, eventually becoming his wife and business partner.

Kenichi's development reveals increasing community integration and unintended influence. He aided townspeople by producing cheese, creating biofuels when diesel was unavailable, and deploying construction machinery for civic projects like canal-digging. His conflict resolution often blended Earth technology and ingenuity—deterring bandits with a backhoe, feeding explosives to a dragon during a forced duel, or eliminating giant spiders with bug spray and magic. Political entanglements emerged as local nobles and royalty, including Princess Lilith, recognized his value, leading to titles like Holy Knight and land grants. Throughout, he balanced his desire for a peaceful rural life with protecting his extended household and addressing broader threats like anti-royal conspiracies.
