Description
Lynn is a young orphan traumatized into muteness after witnessing bandits murder her family in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Residing in a village serving prisoners, she encountered Kenshiro. He restored her speech using a pressure point technique and rescued her from an assault by the gang leader Zeed, forging deep loyalty that led her to follow him. Later captured by the Golan, an organization abducting girls for breeding, she was again saved by Kenshiro. Despite her youth, she displayed notable compassion and bravery throughout these ordeals, maintaining unwavering faith in Kenshiro as her protector.

After a timeskip, she co-founded and co-led the Hokuto Army with Bat, organizing resistance against the oppressive Imperial Celestial Army. Conflict revealed her background: she is the younger twin sister of Celestial Empress Lui. Forbidden by succession laws, infant Lynn was sentenced to death by Viceroy Jakoh. Falco of Gento Kōken defied the order, secretly placing her with relatives. Following Jakoh's overthrow, his son Jask (Tiger in the anime) kidnapped her to the Land of Shura for revenge. There, the warrior Shachi manipulated her to provoke a confrontation between Kenshiro and Kaioh.

In Shura, Kaioh subjected her to the Shikanhaku pressure point technique to purify the Hokuto Ryūken bloodline through an heir. This caused blindness and memory loss, with the effect that regaining sight would trigger irrevocable love for the first person seen. Hyoh, freed from Kaioh's control after battling Kenshiro, rescued her from Shura warriors but sustained mortal wounds. Bat ensured she saw Kenshiro first upon sight restoration. Kenshiro, believing her destiny lay with Bat, entrusted her to him.

Unwilling to accept her love under false pretenses, Bat later used a limited pressure point technique to erase her memories again. He facilitated a reunion with an amnesiac Kenshiro, intending them to rebuild their relationship. When both regained memories confronting the enemy Bolge, they discovered a mortally wounded Bat. His dying wish urged her to be with Kenshiro, whom he believed she truly loved. She initially complied but reconsidered, returning to Bat's side. Kenshiro's healing abilities had saved him, and she consciously chose Bat as her partner, recognizing his enduring devotion and rejecting the magically imposed feelings for Kenshiro.

In the 1986 movie adaptation, Kenshiro similarly rescues her from Zeed; she and Bat follow his journey to locate Yuria, eventually joining Rei to travel to Cassandra where Yuria is held by Ken-Oh (Raoh). During Kenshiro's final battle with Raoh, she intervenes to save Kenshiro's life. Raoh, perceiving her as symbolic of the future, accepts her plea and ceases fighting.

Physically, she wears a signature childhood bandana, evolving into a distinctive headpiece in adulthood. Her wardrobe changed after forming the Hokuto Army, though anime adaptations sometimes retained her original design longer than the manga. Her personality consistently exhibits resilience, selflessness, and a strong moral compass, refusing to submit to evil even under duress. Her presence often inspired courage in others, such as protecting Rei's sister Airi. Characters with keen perception, like village elders or Fudo, recognized her inherent nobility before her royal lineage was known.
