Holly Sidell

Description
Holly Sidell is an American voice actor and performer known for her work in the English dubbing of anime during the early 1990s. Her career, however, extends beyond voice acting into theatre, writing, and holistic wellness.

Sidell began performing from a young age in her native Los Angeles, participating in voice-over work, stage performances, and singing. She later studied theatre at Indiana University and took a Shakespeare course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. After a period away from acting, during which she pursued careers in writing and holistic health, she returned to her first love of theatre, performing regularly in Los Angeles starting in 2014.

Sidell's most recognized role in anime voice acting is Lynn in the English dub of the 1986 theatrical film Fist of the North Star. This movie, an adaptation of the popular manga and television series, was dubbed into English by Streamline Pictures and given a limited theatrical release in 1990. In this version, Sidell provided the voice for Lynn, the young, initially mute girl who becomes a loyal companion to the protagonist, Kenshiro. The cast for this production included several other notable voice actors of the era, such as John Vickery as Kenshiro and Tony Oliver as Bat.

While her anime credit is primarily associated with this single, significant role, Sidell's broader career demonstrates a diverse range of talents. She later wrote and performed a critically received solo stage show, Deconstructing Holly, which premiered in 2020. Public information about additional anime voice-over roles beyond Fist of the North Star is limited.
