Kyoko is a first-year Nijigasaki High School student and Rina Tennoji's classmate. She forms an informal trio with Asaki and Iroha, acting as the closest equivalent to a support group for the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club despite lacking official membership and differing from traditional numerically-named support trios in the franchise.

Physically, Kyoko shares a striking resemblance to the main Love Live! series character Honoka Kousaka. Some international fans also perceive parallels between her vocal qualities and those of Emi Nitta, Honoka's voice actress.
