Description
Nuts is a fairy from the Palmier Kingdom who appears in the crossover film Precure All Stars DX3 as part of the group of characters originally featured in the Yes! Precure 5 series. He is a small brown squirrel-like creature who, like his companion Coco, can take on a human form, which he uses as the clerk of a jewelry shop called Nuts House.
In his background, Nuts comes from the Palmier Kingdom, the same fairy world as Coco. Early in his original story he was sealed inside the Dream Collet, and he was only freed after the five Cures received their powers. That experience of confinement, along with other events of his past, left him with a guarded outlook. His personality is distant and aloof, and he has difficulty trusting others. Even the reassurances of his close friend Coco about the Pretty Cure girls were not enough to win his trust at first. Beneath this reserved manner, he is loyal and serious, and his attitude warms as he comes to know the Cures.
In the story of Precure All Stars DX3, Nuts takes part in the gathering of fairies and Cures from across the Precure series. At the beginning of the film, he and Coco notice Miracle Lights falling from the sky and sense that danger is approaching. Later, when the villain Black Hole strips the Cures of their transformation powers, it is Nuts and Coco who propose using the power of the Prism Flower, the rainbow-colored flower that connects the human world with the fairy worlds, as a last resort to defeat Black Hole. The price of that plan would be the severing of the connection between the worlds, which would mean the fairies could no longer see the Cures. Nuts is willing to accept that separation for the sake of protecting both worlds.
His key relationship is with Coco, his fellow fairy from the Palmier Kingdom. Their friendship is described as comparable to the bond between Nozomi and Rin, two of the central human characters of the Yes! Precure 5 series. Nuts is also connected to the Yes! Precure 5 team, and by the time of the crossover he stands together with the Precure warriors and the other fairy companions rather than keeping his former distance.
