Nuts is a prince of the Palmier Kingdom. In his fairy form, he resembles a brown squirrel with dark brown eyes, a dark orange hair tuft, white neck fur, and a beige underside, ending sentences with "~natts". He shares rulership of Palmier Kingdom with his best friend Coco after the events of *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!*.

His past holds deep trauma. Guarding the kingdom, he opened its passage to aid a wounded creature, inadvertently allowing the Nightmare forces to invade. This caused him profound guilt and lasting distrust of others. Fleeing to the human world with Coco, Nuts shielded Coco from an attack by Nightmare's Hadenya, sustaining severe injuries. The Dream Collet absorbed him for protection, sealing him inside until the five Pretty Cure members freed him.

Operating under the alias "Mr. Natsu" (from the Japanese word for "summer"), he runs the Natts House jewelry shop in the human world. His human form has dirty blonde hair, tanned skin, and wears a russet brown vest over a dark pink long-sleeved shirt, a brown buckle belt, dark blue jeans, and brown boots. As an adult, he adds a long dark maroon jacket with gold accents over the same shirt, light grey jeans, and medium brown boots.

Initially serious, distrustful, and sharp-tongued, Nuts contrasts with Coco's kindness. His guilt makes him reluctant to accept help and stubbornly self-reliant. He intensely values honesty, refusing to lie or offer insincere apologies, though he feels remorse if his bluntness hurts others. Early on, he views the Pretty Cure team as ineffective, particularly Cure Mint (Komachi Akimoto).

His character develops through rebuilding trust. After Cure Dream defends him when Nightmare exposes his past failure, he begins relying on the team, establishing Natts House as their base and creating cases for their Pinky Catches. Financial struggles cause him to collapse from hunger; Komachi's family provides food, and her suggestion of distributing fliers saves his business, marking a turning point in accepting support.

His relationship with Komachi deepens significantly. Offering harsh but constructive criticism on her novel causes her to quit writing temporarily. After a Nightmare attack manifests within her story, he encourages her to defend her work, leading her to resume writing with his ongoing guidance. Komachi develops romantic feelings for his human form, often blushing around him, while Nuts rarely overtly reciprocates. Before returning to Palmier Kingdom, he entrusts her with the key he wore around his neck. Merchandise and series imagery frequently pair them together, and Cure Mint's design influences his Cure form in spin-off media.

In *Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~*, Nuts remains a king of Palmier Kingdom. He assists Coco with diplomatic issues and investigates mysterious Time Flowers blooming in the Cure Rose Garden. Sensing their danger, he visits the human world to warn Komachi, Kurumi (Milk), and Nozomi. He protects them from Shadows, initially opposing Kurumi transforming due to the flowers' risks, but permits one final transformation after recognizing her resolve. Later, he observes the flowers sowing seeds in the garden, expressing cautious optimism about humanity's future.

Nuts and Coco's names combine to form "coconut", aligning with their kingdom's palm motif ("Palmier" meaning "palm" in French).
