Gail is the central antagonist in the *Project A-ko: Uncivil Wars* OVA, an alternate universe story distinct from the main film series. Leading a band of space pirates, he orchestrates the kidnapping of C-ko Kotobuki. His goal is to use C-ko as a physical vessel to resurrect the long-dead sorceress Xena, believing this act will "purify" the universe under her guidance. Unbeknownst to Gail, Xena's true ambition is the annihilation of all existing universes to recreate reality under her absolute control. A charismatic leader, Gail commands subordinates Grash and Liza Chichi, who execute C-ko's abduction. His plan draws bounty hunters A-ko and B-ko into the conflict, seeking to rescue C-ko partly for reward. Gail's actions culminate in a confrontation within the Talho sector. There, Xena initiates the merging of parallel universes, thrusting A-ko and B-ko into battles across dimensions, including echoes of their original film conflict. The protagonists ultimately thwart the universe-merging process. Gail's character is confined solely to the *Uncivil Wars* OVA narrative.
