Unchō Kan'u embodies the successor to Guan Yu in the Ikki Tousen realm. As a third-year Seito Academy student and Special A-Rank fighter, she possesses purple hair, light blue-grey eyes, and tan skin, standing tall with measurements of 94-60-91. Her attire modifies Seito’s sailor uniform into a revealing white blouse with blue stripes, yellow ribbon, blue skirt, loose white socks, and brown shoes. She wields the Reienkyou's Blade and overwhelming chi energy.
Kan'u’s core is unwavering loyalty to Seito’s leader, Gentoku Ryuubi, whom she shields at great personal sacrifice. This devotion drives her to endure capture for Gentoku’s safety and excuse her leader’s evasions. She fiercely prides herself as the "Goddess of War," relentlessly honing her skills. Internal strife stems from her fated death protecting Gentoku and unspoken romantic feelings, largely unreturned.
In the Great Fighters Tournament, Kan'u breaks her arm against Shimei Ryomou yet triumphs using only her legs and one arm. She later overpowers Hakufu Sonsaku’s demonic state but withdraws Seito, disavowing the tournament’s goals.
Facing Kyosho Academy’s threat, Kan'u battles Bunken Gakushin and Koumei Jokou. To spare Gentoku from her awakening dragon’s consumption, Kan'u defects to Kyosho upon capture. Imprisoned, she withstands physical torture and Moutoku Sousou’s psychic assault that nearly shatters her soul. Fighting Hakufu under Kyosho’s banner, she halts only when Sousou intervenes. Genjou Kakouton later sways her to abandon Kyosho, drawing parallels in their protective loyalties.
Advisor Chou-un prompts Kan'u to distance herself, fostering Gentoku’s independence. She resurges at the Battle of Red Cliffs, defeating Bunken and Chuukou Kyocho before thwarting Chuutatsu Shibai’s attack on the alliance. There, she witnesses Hakufu and Gentoku’s joint victory over Sousou.
Later, Kan'u guards Seito’s gates against Koukin’s vengeance, dissuading him by invoking Hakufu’s disapproval. She assesses Koumei Shokatsuryou’s fitness as Gentoku’s protector while standing vigilant over Seito.
