Description
Nagisa Akatsuki is the younger sister of Kojou Akatsuki and a middle school student at Saikai Academy, classmates with Yukina Himeragi and Kanon Kanase. She has black hair typically tied in a high ponytail with a mint-blue ribbon and reddish-brown eyes, usually seen in her school uniform.
Her personality is cheerful, playful, and highly sociable, especially with those she likes, such as Kojou and Yukina. She often struggles to read social situations, exemplified by her excited reaction to La Folia Rihavein kissing Kojou without recognizing the jealousy from other observers. Four years prior to the series, Nagisa was involved in the excavation of Avrora Florestina. During this, the Black Death Emperor Front caused severe injuries that left her in a vegetative state. While receiving treatment on Itogami Island, she was unknowingly possessed by "Root," an entity that later awakened as the Fourth Primogenitor in her body. Root consumed other Kaleid Bloods and human memories, triggering a mass vampire incident on the island. Avrora and Kojou eventually destroyed Root. Just before Root's demise, Nagisa transferred Avrora's consciousness into herself. This event resulted in Nagisa losing her spirit medium powers and memories related to Avrora. Her mother, Mimori Akatsuki, became her personal physician afterward.
The trauma from Root's possession left Nagisa with an extreme fear of demons, causing her to freeze when encountering them.
