TV-Series
Description
Marco Chezanello acts as the local bully of Los Volmos, defined by a self-obsessed and domineering personality. He seizes control of a neighborhood park by defeating the Rowdy Reds using his Pyrus Bakugan, Cyndeous, proclaiming the area his personal "kingdom" and erecting monuments to himself. Marco exploits Cyndeous's unfamiliarity with human society to justify cruel tactics, convincing the Bakugan that bullying and intimidation are normal behavior. He employs Max, a former Rowdy Red, as a servant but treats him with disdain.
Marco's unethical battle methods fracture his relationship with Cyndeous. During a confrontation with the Awesome Ones and Rowdy Reds, Marco orders Cyndeous to attack defenseless opponents, including trapping Trox and Gorthion in a pit and striking them. Conflicted by loyalty, Cyndeous initially obeys but grows reluctant. When Marco commands a direct attack on humans, Cyndeous refuses on moral grounds. An enraged Marco threatens violence, triggering a frenzied state in Cyndeous. Even after Drago intervenes to protect bystanders, Marco refuses to acknowledge this and continues berating Cyndeous, leading the Bakugan to sever their partnership permanently. Marco abandons Cyndeous and leaves the park in anger.
After losing Cyndeous, Marco partners with a weaker Bakugan named Grizzly. His battle proficiency declines significantly without Cyndeous, preventing decisive victories. Though Marco retains his pushy demeanor and large ego, later appearances suggest a slight shift toward humility. He interacts more amiably with children he once bullied, indicating minor behavioral improvement. Despite this, he continues causing minor disturbances, such as attempting to reclaim park dominance, resulting in consistent defeats during battles.
In the final season, Marco appears briefly during a training arc, disrupting the park again. Lia Venegas battles him using a newly mastered technique and defeats him decisively. This encounter reinforces his role as a persistent but ineffective antagonist with no further substantive development.
