Description
Iroha Tamaki is a 15-year-old girl with pink hair and pink eyes, standing 156 cm tall. Her birthday is August 22. Originally from Takarazaki City living with her parents and younger sister Ui, she transfers to Kamihama City University Affiliated School as a ninth-grade student. Iroha's core motivation stems from Ui, who suffers an incurable congenital disease. Desperate to cure her sister, Iroha contracts with Kyubey, wishing explicitly: "Please! Please cure Ui! Make my precious little sister healthy! If you can do that, I'll do anything for you!" After the contract, Iroha inexplicably forgets both her wish and Ui's existence, experiencing recurring dreams of a hospitalized girl that drive her to investigate Kamihama City.

In Kamihama, Iroha encounters veteran magical girl Yachiyo Nanami and becomes involved in investigating supernatural rumors manifesting as entities called Uwasa. She gradually forms a team, Mikazuki Villa, with Yachiyo, Tsuruno Yui, Felicia Mitsuki, and Sana Futaba. This group investigates Kamihama's phenomena while developing bonds described as a "family of choice," particularly for Felicia and Sana who have troubled familial backgrounds. Iroha's investigation eventually reveals Ui was absorbed into a being called Embryo Eve, created by the organization Wings of Magius—co-founded by Ui's friends Touka Satomi and Nemu Hiiragi, who also lost memories of Ui. The Magius seek to "save" magical girls by exploiting Ui's condition and spreading a system to prevent magical girls from becoming witches, using manipulative methods.

Iroha opposes the Magius, leading to conflicts where her teammates are temporarily brainwashed. She perseveres, restoring Touka and Nemu's memories and rescuing Ui from Embryo Eve. This culminates in a battle against the witch Walpurgisnacht, defeated through Iroha and Yachiyo's combined efforts. Following these events, Iroha establishes the Kamihama Magia Union to address new threats like the Kimochi and the Neo-Magius faction. Her journey involves confronting the Promised Blood, another magical girl group with grievances against Kamihama. Later, Iroha faces personal trials when Ui, Touka, and Nemu sacrifice themselves to stop the antagonist Alina Gray. In a climactic development, Iroha ascends to a higher plane of existence as "Infinite Iroha," a godlike entity akin to Ultimate Madoka, to permanently prevent magical girls from becoming witches. This transformation requires her departure from her friends, leaving behind a legacy committed to their protection.

As a magical girl, Iroha wields a wrist-mounted crossbow and dagger, with her soul gem appearing as a pink circle clasping a cloak. Her primary magic is healing, later clarified as "reversal" magic capable of restoring cracked soul gems and reviving allies. She utilizes techniques like Strada Futuro for offensive beam attacks and Connect abilities to enhance allies' powers. When her soul gem corrupts, she manifests her Doppel, Giovanna—the Doppel of Silence, taking the form of a cuckoo. Giovanna embodies denial and isolation, silently strangling unwanted truths while yearning to fill a void in its heart. Despite its timid nature, it employs cloth-like tendrils for defense and attack. Iroha retains awareness of Giovanna's pitiful state but avoids confronting it directly.

Iroha's personality is characterized as shy yet kindhearted, often excessively worrying about others. Initially reserved and technologically inept, she displayed traits of being easily pushed around in her past. Her experiences in Kamihama foster significant growth: she evolves into a determined leader willing to threaten adversaries for information and deliver blunt ultimatums when necessary. Her relationships define key aspects of her character; she shares a profound bond with Ui, views Yachiyo as a mentor and sister figure, and maintains a childhood connection with Ren Amamiya, whom she affectionately calls "Ren-senpai." Iroha's hobbies include cooking, often preparing meals for Ui and her friends. Her narrative arc consistently emphasizes themes of togetherness, illustrating how mutual support helps overcome despair. This thematic focus positions Iroha as a symbol of resilience through unity.
