Description
Felicia Mitsuki is a central character in Magia Record, a thirteen-year-old magical girl who first appears as a self-proclaimed mercenary from Kamihama City. She is a first-year middle school student at Chuo Academy and stands 151 centimeters tall, with long blonde hair usually styled into two pigtails and striking lavender eyes. Her magical girl outfit is characterized by a light lavender hood with golden horns, steampunk goggles, a dark crop top, detached sleeves, fingerless gloves, and a two-layered skirt. Her purple soul gem is located on her stomach, secured by a chain connected to buckled belts, and her primary weapon is an oversized mallet decorated with purple stones.

Felicia's background is defined by a tragic incident from her childhood. While living with her parents in the Minagi Ward of Kamihama City, she played a prank while her mother was cooking, which accidentally started a fire that claimed both her parents' lives. Overwhelmed by guilt and confusion, she made a contract with Kyubey, wishing for what had just happened to never have occurred. Due to her low magical potential and the imprecise wording of her wish, the outcome was limited. Her apartment was restored as if the accident never happened, but her parents remained dead. The wish fundamentally altered the memories of Felicia herself and her neighbors, creating a fabricated belief that her parents had been killed by a witch, while those around her simply recalled them as having disappeared. Only Kyubey and a few other magical girls, most notably Kako Natsume, know the truth about her wish. This rewritten history became the foundation of her identity, driving her to hunt witches as an act of revenge.

Personality-wise, Felicia is an energetic, headstrong, and frequently temperamental girl. She often uses a rough, masculine tone of speech and can be selfish and stubborn, particularly when it comes to combat. Her wild battle expressions and her self-image as a mercenary are directly influenced by her love of shonen manga. Despite her aggressive exterior and tendency to act recklessly, often putting her allies in danger, she possesses a kind and gentle nature. She holds a deep affection for animals, especially cows, a fondness rooted in a happy childhood memory of visiting a farm with her parents, who did not argue that day and gave her a cherished cow plushie.

Her primary motivation is the extermination of all witches, whom she erroneously believes are responsible for her parents' death. She operates as a mercenary, offering her witch-hunting services for payment in order to support herself as an orphan. Finances are a constant concern, leading her to take on jobs from various magical girl alliances in Kamihama. This pursuit of revenge and sustenance initially makes her a solitary and difficult ally, prone to clashing with other magical girls due to her impulsive fighting style and blunt, sometimes rude, remarks.

Felicia's role in the story becomes prominent when she meets Iroha Tamaki. After a series of events involving a rumor known as the Lucky Owl Water, Felicia briefly allies with the Wings of the Magius, attracted by the prospect of revenge and free room and board. However, she ultimately leaves the organization and is invited by Iroha to live at Mikazuki Villa, the home of Yachiyo Nanami. This marks a significant turning point, as she becomes a core member of this makeshift family. She develops key relationships with the other residents, viewing Iroha as a sisterly or motherly figure and accepting guidance from the more experienced Yachiyo. She is fiercely protective of her friends, even getting into fights with other magical girls who speak ill of them.

Her development throughout the narrative involves a gradual shift from solitary vengeance to communal living and emotional openness. She learns to coexist with Iroha and the others, though she is not without her insecurities. When a younger girl, Ui, moves into the villa, Felicia displays jealousy, feeling that her friends no longer give her the same attention, though she eventually accepts the new arrival as part of her family. Her deepest challenge comes when she is forced to confront the repressed truth of her parents' death. Upon learning that she, not a witch, was responsible for the fire, she falls into despair and releases her doppel. It is only through the support of her friends from the Union that she begins to come to terms with this reality, refusing to give in to her despair and ultimately choosing to live for the sake of her new happiness and to help those around her.

Felicia possesses notable magical abilities, primarily centered on memory manipulation, a power granted by her wish that she calls Oblivion. This ability allows her to erase or alter the memories of others. However, her typical combat style is far less subtle, relying on brute force with her giant hammer. She is a powerful melee fighter known for going into a berserker rage when fighting witches, during which she becomes nearly uncontrollable but gains immense strength, capable of producing large shockwaves and dealing devastating blows. Her signature magical attack is the Ultra Great Big Hammer, which she enlarges to strike foes from the air, reducing their defense and sometimes binding them. Her doppel, named Beatrice, takes the form of a giant eyelid. When manifested, Felicia falls into a deep sleep, and the doppel cries tears of mud that have the power to seal off enemies and paint over or re-paint inconvenient realities, acting as a subconscious defense mechanism to shield her from traumatic truths.
