Description
Momoko Togame is a 16-year-old magical girl from Shinsei Ward who attends Kamihama City University Affiliated School. She possesses long blonde hair, usually secured in a ponytail with a red scrunchie, and reddish-brown eyes, standing 161 cm tall. Her civilian clothes contrast her magical girl outfit: a white tunic over a dark cropped top revealing her midriff, pale green sleeves with gold-trimmed cuffs, dark brown gloves, a translucent ruffled skirt, and white boots. Her weapon is a large, curved machete, and her soul gem appears as a reddish-brown shield on her chest.

The middle child between two brothers, Momoko developed a tomboyish, frank personality influenced by her siblings yet retains a strong affinity for cute, girlish items like stuffed animals and female idols. Outwardly confident and caring, she often acts as an older-sister figure to younger magical girls but harbors deep insecurities about her femininity and romantic appeal. These insecurities directly led to her contract with Kyubey; she wished for "the courage to confess my feelings to the boy I like." Tragically, another girl confessed to him first, rendering her wish futile and leaving her heartbroken. This cemented her self-perception of perpetually having "bad timing."

After her contract, Momoko joined a team with Yachiyo Nanami, Mifuyu Azusa, Tsuruno Yui, and Mel Anna. During a witch hunt, Mel sacrificed herself to save the group, transforming into a witch. Blaming Kyubey and her teammates for Mel’s death, Momoko abandoned the team in rage and grief. Later, she met Rena Minami at an idol concert after intervening in a dispute Rena had with a man. They teamed up to defeat a witch, with Rena using her shapeshifting magic to mimic Momoko’s form. This partnership grew into a close friendship, with Rena helping Momoko reframe her past regrets. Momoko subsequently rescued Kaede Akino from a witch labyrinth, forming a new trio. Rena and Kaede’s presence helped Momoko reconcile her failed wish, realizing becoming a magical girl allowed her to forge meaningful bonds she otherwise would have missed.

Momoko’s magic centers on encouragement-based support, enhancing allies' offensive capabilities. Her connect skill, "So What If I'm Overbearing?!", boosts allies' attack power and pierces enemy defenses. Her magia, "The Universe’s Edge," delivers heavy flame-based damage to targets and nearby enemies while augmenting charged attacks for her team. When her emotional corruption peaks, her doppel, Elfriede—the Doppel of Self Discipline—manifests as gigantic, manicured fingers and floating nails. This entity is highly sensitive to praise or criticism about its appearance; compliments energize it, while insults cause it to become despondent and difficult to control. Its volatile nature makes immediate deployment in combat advisable.

Her story diverges between continuities. In game narratives, she remains active with Rena and Kaede, participating in events like beach outings and winter gatherings, where her love for cute fashion and ongoing awkwardness with timing are recurring themes. In the anime adaptation, she rejoins the Kamihama conflict as a provisional member of the Wings of the Magius. During the climax, she and Mifuyu sacrifice themselves by absorbing massive amounts of negative energy from other magical girls, an act that prevents widespread doppel manifestations but results in their deaths.
