Equuleus Shōko, also called Shō or Shou, is the younger sister of the former Equuleus Saintia, Kyōko. Both sisters trained in martial arts under their father from an early age. As a child, Shōko wandered into the darkness of Eden following an argument and encountered the entity Atë, who appeared as an old woman offering a golden apple to make her the new host for Eris, the Goddess of Discord. Her sister Kyōko intervened, and both were saved by Scorpio Milo, though the event continued to haunt Shōko as a recurring nightmare.
Five years after Kyōko left to study abroad under the Graad Foundation, Shōko learned that Saori Kido would attend her school. When Shōko tried to ask about her sister, she was denied an audience by Saori’s secretary, Mii. Soon after, Shōko was attacked by a woman with the same intentions as the previous incident but was rescued by Kyōko, who had since become the Equuleus Saintia. This encounter revealed Saori’s identity as the reincarnation of Athena, who then invited Shōko to her mansion for protection.
That same night, Shōko was targeted once more and captured after a struggle by the Dryad Atë. To prevent Shōko’s possession by Eris, Kyōko sacrificed herself and became possessed instead. Determined to save her sister, Shōko obtained the Equuleus Cloth and requested training to become a Saintia.
She was sent to the mountains of Togakushi to train under Pavo Mayura, a Silver Saint. During training, Shōko was seriously injured by Mayura’s disciples, Mirai and Shinato, but her resolve impressed Mayura. After touching an Evil Seed, Shōko was consumed by desires until Mayura exorcised and sealed her. Awakening her Cosmo through powerful conviction, Shōko broke free from Eris’ influence.
Reunited with Saori, Shōko confronted Eris, who possessed Kyōko’s body. The Equuleus Cloth resonated with Kyōko’s Cosmo and covered Shōko. Initially unable to project her Cosmos effectively, Shōko strengthened her resolve and, with Saori’s combined Cosmo, helped defeat Eris. Atë escaped with Kyōko’s body, and Shōko grabbed onto Atë’s vines, disappearing with them.
Shōko awoke in Dark Eden, bound by spider threads and at the mercy of the Dryad Murder Phonos. Scorpio Milo intervened, freeing Shōko and killing Phonos. Mii arrived, sent by Saori, but Shōko refused to return, intent on stopping Milo from killing both Eris and her sister. They encountered Milo battling Orion Rigel, a former Silver Saint serving Eris to protect Kyōko. Shōko halted the battle and attempted to exorcise Eris using Athena’s power, but Eris awakened fully. Kyōko momentarily restrained Eris and requested to be destroyed along with the goddess, which Milo did. They escaped as Dark Eden collapsed.
After Gemini Saga’s defeat, Shōko defeated Dryads attempting to attack the Sanctuary.
Shōko is a human Saintia of Athena. Her abilities include superhuman physical traits, manipulation of Cosmos and atoms, destruction and restoration, energy and light manipulation, martial arts, affecting souls, true flight or levitation, and resistances to mind, soul, matter manipulation, transmutation, and magic. Her attack potency begins at unknown levels, reaches Continent level after initial battles, and becomes Multi-Continent level post-training with Marin. Her speed ranges from Transonic to High Hypersonic, with the capacity to achieve light speed using the Seventh Sense. Lifting strength is Class 100. Durability is Continent level with the Equuleus Bronze Cloth, improving to Multi-Continent level with the V2 version. Stamina is very high. Standard equipment includes the Equuleus Bronze Cloth, Lunar Hagoromo, and Golden Kanzashi.
Notable techniques include Equuleus Ryusei Ken (Equuleus Meteor Fist), which releases hundreds of cosmic beams at high speed, Equuleus Suisei Ken (Equuleus Comet Fist), focusing energy into a single powerful comet attack, and Equuleus Rolling Crash.
