Description
Kyōsuke Karasuma serves as an A-rank agent in Border's Tamakoma Branch. He joined Border three years prior to the main events, initially assigned to Tachikawa Squad before transferring to Tamakoma Branch one year earlier—a move that ignited baseless rumors of factional strife within Border Headquarters. His relocation aligned with Shiori Usami’s transfer to Tamakoma.

His appearance features shaggy black hair and golden eyes. Casual attire typically includes a turquoise jacket (inherited from Yūichi Jin) over a white v-neck shirt, paired with jeans. When using his Trion body, his uniform echoes Yūma Kuga’s C-rank design but substitutes a teal jacket with black stripes and black padded gloves.

Karasuma exhibits a laid-back, friendly personality marked by dry humor. He habitually teases Kirie Konami with deadpan lies followed by the phrase "I lied." Despite occasional aloofness, he maintains warm peer relationships and attracted considerable popularity at Border Headquarters, including admirers like Yōko Katori. Combat shifts his demeanor to intense focus. Yuichi Jin deems him "a good teacher," reflecting his responsible mentorship of Osamu Mikumo and Ai Kitora.

As Tamakoma First’s middle-range All-Rounder, his tactical expertise surfaces through mentorship. He advised Osamu’s shift from Gunner to Shooter to prioritize strategy over direct combat, rigorously cultivating his potential. During the Large-Scale Invasion, he shielded Osamu and C-rank agents by deploying Escudo against Neighbors like Hyuse and Viza. His defining feat involved activating Geist Blade Shift—a specialized Trigger granting 200 seconds of enhanced power at the cost of bailout—sacrificing himself to buy allies time. This earned him Border recognition and awards.

Throughout the B-Rank Wars, he mentored Tamakoma Second. He declined Osamu’s early request for advanced Shooter training, deeming him unprepared, but facilitated lessons from experts like Kōhei Izumi and Arashiyama Squad. Later, he aided strategic preparations by role-playing opponents (including mimicking Ninomiya) to develop countermeasures. In the Galapoula Invasion, he supported snipers and eliminated Idras using Geist Gunner Shift before bailing out at its time limit.

His background notes a preference for family meals and tonkatsu. His nickname "Torimaru" derives from kanji resemblance between "Karasuma" (烏丸) and "Bird" (鳥) plus "Maru" (丸).
