TV-Series
Description
Yūichi Jin serves as a core operative within the defense organization Border, assigned to the Tamakoma Branch. He currently holds the rank of A-class agent, having previously been demoted from S-class. Jin stands as one of the twelve candidates for the powerful Black Trigger Fūjin and remains its most recognized wielder. He was among the original nineteen founding members during Border's establishment.

Jin possesses brown hair and blue eyes. He typically dons the standard Border uniform: a blue jacket featuring black or white sleeve stripes, dark pants, and boots. Turquoise-tinted sunglasses are a frequent accessory, often perched on his collar. A signature holster and the regular presence of rice crackers further define his look. In the spin-off "Talented Elite Jin," he appears older, wearing a darker jacket, a golden holster, and wielding a katana-like weapon.

His outward demeanor is characteristically laidback and carefree; he habitually offers rice crackers to both allies and foes. Beneath this casual exterior lies a highly strategic and resourceful mind, adept at leveraging his extensive Border network to orchestrate complex operations. A core belief drives him: the pursuit of peaceful coexistence between humans and Neighbors, shaped by his experiences in the Neighbor world and despite the loss of his mother in a Neighbor attack. He consistently prioritizes minimizing collateral damage and protecting civilians during conflicts, accepting personal risk.

Jin possesses a unique Side Effect granting him foresight, enabling him to perceive multiple potential futures for individuals near him. He proactively uses this ability to steer events toward favorable outcomes, such as redirecting enemy attacks away from city centers during invasions. However, this foresight has limitations; it cannot predict all events or certain specific attacks. In combat, he formerly wielded the Black Trigger Fūjin, which synergized powerfully with his Side Effect to alter potential futures. Jin later relinquished Fūjin to secure Yūma Kuga's official integration into Border, switching to standard Border Triggers. His combat capabilities include high agility, sharp tactical analysis, and proficiency with weapons like Scorpion for close-quarters combat. Statistical assessments rate his offensive potential between "Large Building level+" and "City Block level," coupled with supersonic to hypersonic reaction speeds.

Jin's actions significantly shape key Border events. During the Large-Scale Neighbor Invasion, he deliberately orchestrated enemy focus onto Chika Amatori to drastically reduce urban destruction, accepting responsibility for near-fatal consequences to allies and the sacrifice of Replica. He later forfeited his S-rank status and Fūjin to ensure Yūma's recognition within Border, underscoring his commitment to diplomatic solutions with Neighbors. His role evolved into mentoring the Tamakoma-2 squad while continuing strategic planning behind the scenes.

Within the alternate continuity of "Talented Elite Jin," Jin features as the protagonist, though specific personality or background details in this storyline remain unelaborated.

Additional details include his fondness for Bonchi brand rice crackers (called "agesen" in the anime), a tendency to self-refer as the "power elite," a 5th place finish in a series popularity poll, and his consistent use of a Trion body around fellow Border agents to project an image of elite capability.
