TV-Series
Description
Maki Gamou, better known as Gamo-chan, is a first-year high school student and a close friend of the series' main protagonist, Nagatoro. As the unofficial ringleader of her friend group, which includes Nagatoro, Yoshi, and Sakura, she is a confident, popular, and outspoken individual. Physically, she is the tallest of her friends, standing almost as tall as the male lead, Senpai, and possesses an athletic, toned build with long fiery orange hair. Her casual fashion sense reflects a passion for rock music.

Beneath her aggressive and sarcastic exterior, Gamo-chan is a level-headed and surprisingly thoughtful person. While she initially appears as a harsh bully, this behavior is often a calculated act designed to provoke Nagatoro and push her closer to Senpai. She is one of the first to recognize Nagatoro's romantic feelings and, despite her own sadistic streak, acts as a secret supporter of their relationship. Her caring nature extends to all her friends; she has shown genuine concern for Nagatoro's well-being, acted protectively when Sakura was stalked, and displayed patience with Yoshi's quirks. She is considered the "big sister" figure of her group.

Gamo-chan shares a friendly but intense rivalry with Nagatoro, often butting heads and engaging in near-physical fights, yet their underlying bond is one of deep care and respect. She is a natural-born leader and an adept schemer, using her intelligence and organizational skills to plan complex pranks or orchestrate events to help Senpai, such as creating a YouTube sensation to draw a crowd to his art exhibit. She has a habit of referring to Senpai as "Paisen," a playful twist on the honorific "Senpai".

A significant aspect of Gamo-chan's identity is her proficiency in martial arts, which she has practiced since childhood at her family's fighting gym. She frequently spars with Nagatoro and is considered her near-equal in mixed martial arts, favoring a striking-based style that uses her long reach to her advantage. However, her skills are specialized; she struggles in pure judo competitions due to the sport's restrictive rules and the use of the judogi, an area where Nagatoro excels. This specialization was evident during a school judo tournament where she was quickly outmatched by a more experienced opponent. She later joins the judo club to improve, starting as a white belt.

Despite her beauty and confidence, Gamo-chan is implied to be less experienced in romance than her friends, a fact she attributes to having high standards. She has never had a boyfriend and shows a hidden, bashful side when the topic of Nagatoro's older brother, Taiga, is brought up, hinting at a secret crush. Over the course of the story, Gamo-chan's attitude towards Senpai softens significantly. She moves from being his harshest critic to treating him as a genuine friend, openly admitting she finds him funny and even orchestrating schemes to help him spend time with Nagatoro.
